Position Overview

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough assessments to evaluate clients' social, emotional, and psychological needs, using a warm and empathetic approach that encourages openness.
• Provide one-on-one and group counseling sessions, employing evidence-based therapeutic modalities tailored to the unique challenges faced by our clients.
• Develop comprehensive service plans that outline specific treatment goals and actionable steps to help clients achieve positive outcomes.
• Actively advocate for clients' rights and facilitate their access to vital resources including housing, education, and healthcare services.
• Contribute to program development initiatives, evaluate service effectiveness, and assist in grant writing and reporting to secure funding for ongoing programs.
• Build and maintain collaborative relationships with community organizations, local government, and other stakeholders to expand the reach and effectiveness of our services.
• Participate in ongoing training, community outreach activities, and team-building initiatives to enhance skills and foster a strong team dynamic.

Patient Population / Client Focus

Our clientele includes individuals and families from diverse cultural and socioeconomic backgrounds, many of whom face challenges such as mental health issues, substance abuse, poverty, and systemic inequality. As an LCSW at Family Unity Counseling, you will play a vital role in understanding these complexities and providing targeted interventions that facilitate healing and empowerment.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Social Work from an accredited institution.
• Active, unrestricted state licensure as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW).
• Strong understanding of social work ethics, legal standards, and professional practices in a community health setting.
• Proficiency in utilizing data-driven approaches to inform practice and improve client outcomes.

Preferred Experience

• Prior experience working in a nonprofit or community health organization, with a focus on social justice and advocacy.
• Familiarity with trauma-informed care and community resources available in Elizabeth, NJ and surrounding areas.
• Demonstrated skills in report writing and participation in funding proposals.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills essential for effective collaboration and client engagement.

Compensation and Benefits

This position offers a competitive salary range of $75,000 to $100,000 per year, commensurate with experience and qualifications. In addition, we provide a robust benefits package that includes:
