Key Responsibilities

• Conduct detailed assessments to evaluate clients' mental health issues, develop clinical diagnoses, and set achievable goals in treatment plans.
• Provide therapeutic services, including individual, group, and family therapy, utilizing a variety of evidence-based practices such as cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), and mindfulness techniques.
• Engage in crisis intervention, offering immediate support to clients facing acute challenges and assisting them in developing coping strategies.
• Maintain comprehensive, accurate, and confidential client records that comply with all ethical and legal standards, ensuring proper documentation of treatment progress and outcomes.
• Collaborate effectively with an interdisciplinary team, including psychiatrists, social workers, and other healthcare professionals, ensuring holistic care for each client.
• Educate clients and their families about mental health resources, support systems, and treatment options while advocating for their rights and needs within the healthcare system.
• Stay abreast of the latest research and best practices within the field of mental health, participating in ongoing training and professional development opportunities.

Patient Population / Client Focus

The clients served at Union Family Counseling Center encompass a diverse range of backgrounds and age groups who may be experiencing anxiety, depression, trauma, family dynamics, and various other mental health challenges. Your expertise will play a crucial role in providing responsive care designed to address both individual client needs and broader familial dynamics.

Qualifications

• Active state licensure as a Mental Health Therapist, which may include LMFT, LMHC, LCSW, or LCSW-R certifications.
• A minimum of a Master's or Doctoral degree in counseling, psychology, social work, or a related field.
• Strong clinical assessment and diagnostic capabilities, demonstrating a thorough understanding of mental health disorders.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, allowing for effective collaboration with clients and team members.
• Ability to demonstrate sensitivity to multicultural issues and a willingness to implement culturally appropriate practices.
• Commitment to upholding the highest ethical and professional standards in line with state regulations and professional guidelines.

Preferred Experience

• At least two years of related experience in a clinical or therapeutic setting, focusing on mental health counseling.
• Prior experience with telehealth services is a plus, given the remote nature of this position.
• Familiarity with community resources and the ability to coordinate care across various service areas enhances the therapeutic experience.

Compensation and Benefits
