About the role

Underdog is looking for a Product Marketing Manager to help drive how we bring new products, features, and sport tentpole moments to life for our users. This role sits at the intersection of product, growth, and creative, owning positioning, launch strategy, and lifecycle marketing across our fantasy sports and prediction market offerings.

You'll partner closely with Product, Data, Creative, and Growth teams to turn what we build into stories and campaigns that drive adoption, engagement, and retention. This is a high-visibility role for someone who is genuinely obsessed with sports and understands the fantasy sports / prediction market space from the inside.

  • Develop go-to-market strategy, messaging, and positioning for new products and features, from internal betas through full-scale launch
  • Lead marketing strategy around major sport moments (NFL kickoff, March Madness, MLB Opening Day, etc.), coordinating timing, messaging, and channel strategy to maximize impact
  • Design and execute campaigns that drive awareness and habitual use of existing features, working with lifecycle/CRM to build the right nudges at the right moments
  • Act as the connective tissue between Product, Data/Analytics, Creative, Growth, Promo, and Comms, ensuring marketing plans are grounded in user insight and business priorities
  • Build and manage launch plans and campaign briefs, including audience segmentation, messaging frameworks, and success metrics
  • Partner with Product on roadmap input, ensuring marketing considerations (naming, positioning, timing) are baked in early
  • Collaborate with Creative on assets that reflect Underdog's brand voice and resonate with sports fans and bettors
  • Work with Data/Analytics to define KPIs, measure campaign performance, and translate results into next steps
  • Stay ahead of the sports calendar and prediction market/fantasy landscape to anticipate opportunities and competitive moves
  • Partner with Promo to align product launches and tentpole campaigns with promotional offers, incentive structures, and timing
  • Represent the voice of the user in product and marketing conversations, you know what makes a fantasy/prediction market player tick
Who you are
  • 6+ years of marketing experience, with a track record in product marketing, growth marketing, or lifecycle marketing
  • Genuine sports interest and fluency, you follow multiple sports closely and understand fan/bettor behavior and culture
  • Fantasy sports and/or prediction market experience is a must, whether from working in the industry, or as a deeply engaged player/user who understands the mechanics, terminology, and what drives engagement
  • Strong project management skills, comfortable owning multiple launches/campaigns simultaneously with tight sport-calendar deadlines
  • Experience translating data and user insights into marketing strategy
  • Excellent written and verbal communication; able to flex tone across channels and audiences
  • Comfortable operating cross-functionally in a fast-moving, deadline-driven environment
Even Better If You Have
  • Experience marketing regulated products (sports betting, DFS, or similar)
  • Familiarity with tools like Amplitude, Intercom, or AppsFlyer
  • A personal history of playing fantasy sports or prediction markets competitively

Our target hourly rate for this position is $100hour. The starting rate will depend on a number of factors including the candidate's skills and experience, among other things.
