Job Description:
Job Summary
Responsible for providing direct, compassionate, and patient-centered care by performing delegated clinical and nonclinical tasks under the supervision of licensed healthcare professionals. Assists with obtaining vital signs, phlebotomy, documentation, activities of daily living, patient mobility, and preparation for procedures. Ensures a safe, clean, and therapeutic environment by adhering to organizational policies, infection control practices, and safety protocols. Collaborates with interdisciplinary teams to support patient comfort, satisfaction, and optimal outcomes. Maintains accurate records, assists with patient transport, and participates in psychiatric rehabilitation and group activities as needed.
Essential Functions
• Assists the patient care team with routine patient care, comfort, hygiene, mobility, and delegated non-nursing tasks under supervision.
• Performs admission, transfer, discharge, and transportation activities, and accompanies patients to appointments or visitations as needed.
• Monitors and documents patient status, including vital signs, intake and output, pain assessments, and completes required checks and observations.
• Communicates pertinent patient information to the healthcare team and participates in patient hand-offs using established protocols.
• Maintains a clean, safe, and organized environment by cleaning equipment, restocking supplies, and ensuring proper equipment function and storage.
• Demonstrates service excellence, professionalism, and teamwork with patients, families, and staff, and models behavioral expectations.
• Ensures compliance with patient privacy, confidentiality, infection control, and regulatory requirements within the scope of practice.
• Participates in professional development, completes required competencies, attends meetings, and maintains certifications as required.
• Documents all care and activities accurately and thoroughly in the medical record according to policy.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
Education Requirement
High school diploma or equivalent and vocational/technical training in relevant area.
Experience Requirement
0-1 years of experience in a healthcare, clinical setting, or a relevant area
An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
All experience must be paid and in the same related field.
Part-time and PRN experience will be prorated based on hours worked per week.
Volunteer work and internships for academic credit are not counted.
Certifications & Licensures
Basic Life Support (BLS), Non-Violent Crisis Intervention (CPI), State Registered Nurse Aid (SRNA) certification in applicable state
