Remote Travel Nurses often face challenges such as adapting quickly to new healthcare systems, learning facility-specific protocols, and building rapport with patients and colleagues from a distance. Managing varying time zones, differing state regulations, and balancing independent work can also be demanding. The 12/24 rule for travel nurses refers to a guideline where nurses typically work a 12-hour shift for 24 consecutive hours, often followed by a period off, such as 36 or 48 hours. This schedule helps manage staffing needs and ensures adequate rest between shifts, especially in high-demand environments. It is important for travel nurses to understand scheduling expectations and maintain proper self-care during assignments.
