Position Overview: This is a remote role that will support the Commercial Virtual Design and Construction team with a focus on estimating mechanical and plumbing trade work. This role requires a strong understanding of ductwork, mechanical piping and plumbing trades as well as the ability to collaborate effectively in the remote team environment. Our ideal candidate would be in Eastern or Central time zones.
Position Overview: The VDC Estimator will leverage Virtual Design and Construction technologies to produce accurate cost estimates and support project planning. This role involves using contract documents, BIM models and other VDC tools to analyze project requirements, develop cost/material estimates, and support effective project management and decision-making.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop detailed and accurate cost estimates based on provided contract drawings and specifications.
  • Create and prepare detailed proposals with cost estimates for delivery to external customers.
  • Utilize tools to analyze project data and support estimation processes.
  • Collaborate with sales to gather and review project information.
  • Be comfortable with engaging in customer scope and descope meetings.
  • Effectively communicate awarded project wins and scope to project managers.
  • Continually review and collaborate with project managers on hours, project wins and trends.

Qualifications:
  • 5 years of experience in cost estimating, with a focus on mechanical and plumbing.
  • Proficiency in VDC tools and software, such as Quotesoft, Trimble AutoBid Mechanical, Autodesk Revit, Navisworks, or other BIM platforms.
  • Strong understanding of construction methods, materials, and cost estimation principles.
  • Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data and provide accurate estimates.
  • Effective communication skills, with the ability to collaborate with diverse teams and stakeholders.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

Requirements for Remote/Hybrid Workers:
  • Candidates based in the general Raleigh, Riviera Beach, or Newport News markets, we offer a hybrid schedule with time in the office for in person meetings, training, and/or collaboration. Hybrid candidates are expected in the office 3 days per week.
  • Remote/Hybrid candidates must have high speed internet connection
  • Future in-office requirements are TBD and are subject to change
  • Remote candidates should be aware that our main offices are in the Eastern and Central time zones. This may require schedule flexibility for onboarding, training, and team meetings.

Pay Range:
Actual pay rate may vary depending upon location. The estimated pay range for this position is below. The specific rate will depend on a candidate's qualifications and prior experience.
$2,700.00 - $5,866.30
Estimated Ranges displayed are Monthly for Salaried roles OR Hourly for all other roles.
This role is Bonus or Incentive Plan eligible.
