POSITION DESCRIPTION:

The Principal Logistician will provide senior-level logistics and integrated logistics support (ILS) expertise to the NOAA. This role supports the planning, development, acquisition, operation, and life-cycle sustainment of NOAA marine, aviation, and associated mission systems by translating operational requirements and engineering designs into effective, compliant, and sustainable logistics and support solutions.

The Principal Logistician ensures logistics considerations are fully integrated into system design and program execution, maintains quality across the project life cycle, and provides leadership and oversight to logistics and logistics analysis personnel.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Translate operational requirements and design data into integrated logistics and life-cycle support strategies.
  • Perform functional and performance analyses to define engineering and sustainment support requirements.
  • Establish logistics support standards for acceptance, maintainability, and compliance with design and maintenance criteria.
  • Ensure logistics quality and compliance throughout the system life cycle.
  • Review logistics and program documentation for adherence to standards, requirements, and program goals.
  • Provide technical leadership and oversight to logisticians and logistics analysts.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Associates degree related to logistics analysis, engineering, or related discipline
  • 10+ years of progressively responsible experience in systems functional analysis, logistics support analysis, and engineering support
  • Demonstrated experience supporting complex technical programs involving life-cycle sustainment of systems or platforms.
  • Strong knowledge of integrated logistics support principles and life-cycle management.
  • Experience supporting marine, aviation, or complex technical systems in operational environments.
  • Ability to lead multidisciplinary logistics teams and interface effectively with engineering and program leadership
