Applus+ QPS is an accredited third-party testing, certification and field evaluation body for electrical and electronic products. Founded in 1995, it became a part of Applus+ Laboratories in 2020. Its headquarters are in Toronto, Canada and its certification offices in Ohio, US and the Netherlands, and its services are provided worldwide.


Applus+ QPS services enable its customers to meet national and international regulatory requirements related to electrical safety, energy efficiency, and explosive atmospheres and include:


Testing, certification and Field Evaluation for North American Market Access

Applus+ QPS has all the necessary accreditations and recognitions to provide market access for electrical and electronic products in North America. The Applus+ QPS marks and labels can be considered proof of compliance with applicable national standards.


This includes certification of Ex products, as well as compliance with energy efficiency requirements.


Applus+ QPS is a Nationally Recognized Testing Laboratory (NRTL) by the US Occupational Health and Safety Administration (OSHA) and the Standards Council of Canada (SCC). It is also accredited as a certification and inspection body under SO/IEC 17065 and ISO/IEC 17020 standards and as an A2LA testing laboratory (ISO/IEC 17025).


Applus QPS is looking for an experienced Regional Field Evaluation Manager to lead and grow our U.S.-based Field Evaluation (FE) operations. This is a high-impact leadership role overseeing a team. Field Evaluation Inspectors, driving operational excellence, and serving as a key client-facing leader.

What You’ll Do

  • Lead and manage day-to-day Field Evaluation operations across the U.S.
  • Coach, develop, and support a team of FE Inspectors to ensure quality and performance excellence.
  • Manage the U.S. FE regional budget, including monthly and annual revenue forecasting.
  • Serve as a point of contact for U.S.-based FE clients.
  • Plan and coordinate field activities, including the use of external contractors.
  • Handle client feedback and resolve complaints to maintain high customer satisfaction.
  • Collaborate with Corporate QA to resolve non-conformances and ensure compliance with all policies and standards.
  • Drive continuous improvement of Field Evaluation services, processes, and procedures.
  • Build and maintain relationships with Authorities Having Jurisdiction (AHJs).
  • Support business development efforts by assisting with proposals, quotes, scheduling, and project distribution.
  • Participate in audits, hiring, onboarding, and cross-regional collaboration initiatives.
  • Travel within the U.S. (and occasionally Canada) for on-site evaluations, audits, and leadership engagement.
  • Manage, review, and approve expenses.
  • Other duties as assigned to meet business demands.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (preferred), or CET, or Certified Electrician.
  • 5+ years of experience in product testing and safety evaluations (TIC environment preferred).
  • Prior experience managing or supervising Field Evaluation or inspection teams.
  • Strong leadership, project management, and client engagement skills.
  • Deep knowledge of Field Evaluation processes, product safety testing, and U.S. regulatory requirements.
  • Excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to travel throughout the U.S. and Canada.
