Applus+ QPS has all the necessary accreditations and recognitions to provide market access for electrical and electronic products in North America. The Applus+ QPSmarks and labels can be considered proof of compliance with applicable national standards.
This includes certification of Ex products, as well as compliance with energy efficiency requirements.
Applus+ QPS is a Nationally Recognized Testing Laboratory (NRTL) by the US Occupational Health and Safety Administration (OSHA) and the Standards Council of Canada (SCC). It is also accredited as a certification and inspection body under SO/IEC 17065 and ISO/IEC 17020 standards and as an A2LA as a testing laboratory (ISO/IEC 17025).
Applus+ QPS is seeking a high‑energy Sales Account Executive to drive new business acquisition and revenue growth across North America. This quota‑carrying role focuses on generating new opportunities, building a strong pipeline, and closing business in the electrical and electronic compliance sector.
You will sell Applus+ QPS’s full suite of certification, field evaluation, and market‑access solutions to manufacturers, OEMs, integrators, and industrial equipment providers. The ideal candidate is growth‑oriented, consultative, and motivated by expanding customer relationships and market presence.
Key Responsibilities
New Business Acquisition (Primary Focus)
- Execute a targeted commercial strategy to reach high‑value market segments:
- Industrial machinery & equipment
- Electrical controls & industrial panels
- Data center and mission‑critical infrastructure
- Energy systems, power distribution & switchgear
- EV charging & electrification technologies
- Oil & gas / hazardous environments
- Drive strategic outbound activity (LinkedIn outreach, referrals, events, calls) to build a strong pipeline.
- Use a consultative sales approach to uncover customer needs and align QPS solutions.
- Convert new prospects into long‑term revenue‑generating customers.
Sales Execution & Revenue Growth
- Manage the full sales cycle from prospecting to close, including:
- Targeting & outreach
- Qualification
- Technical discovery
- Proposal development
- Pricing & negotiation
- Closing
- Partner with engineering and certification teams to deliver commercially aligned solutions.
- Articulate QPS differentiation, value, and ROI to technical and commercial stakeholders.
Account Expansion & Cross‑Selling
- Develop newly acquired accounts through proactive engagement and solution expansion.
- Identify additional revenue opportunities across Applus+ service lines:
- NRTL Product Certification
- Field Evaluations / Special Inspections
- Hazardous Location (North America, ATEX, IECEx)
- EMC & regulatory testing
- Build and maintain relationships with key decision‑makers to drive repeat business.
Commercial Strategy & Market Positioning
- Stay informed on competitive offerings, pricing trends, and market shifts.
- Provide insights to commercial leadership to support revenue strategy and market development.
- Represent Applus+ QPS at trade shows, technical events, and customer engagements.
Performance Expectations (KPIs)
- Net‑new accounts acquired

Required Qualifications
- 3–7+ years of B2B sales experience in a quota‑carrying role
- Strong track record of developing new business and driving revenue growth
- Experience with technical, compliance, or service‑based sales preferred
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, or related field a plus
- Travel required throughout North America- approximately 40%
Preferred Background
- Testing, Inspection & Certification (TIC)
- Electrical or industrial equipment manufacturing
- Automation, controls, or regulatory compliance
- Familiar with NRTL/NFPA/NEC requirements
