UW Medical Center-Montlake - ED Registration Department has an outstanding opportunity for a
Patient Services Specialist Lead.
WORK SCHEDULE
- 75% FTE (30 hours per week)
- Friday, Saturday, Sunday, 9:00 AM - 7:30 PM
- Night Shift
POSITION HIGHLIGHTS
- Supports the ED Supervisor in coordinating clerical and support activities for PSS staff
- Serves as a liaison between patients, families, and healthcare teams to ensure smooth communication
- Provides guidance to PSS staff, including involvement in hiring, training, and performance feedback
PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
- Maintains patient confidentiality and adheres to departmental policies and procedures
- Uses medical terminology and reference resources effectively; may perform billing and data entry
- Acts as a key liaison between patients, families, providers, and hospital staff
- Provides guidance and training to PSS staff; assists with hiring, onboarding, and scheduling
- Oversees quality control tasks, including registration accuracy and monthly billing
- Serves as a resource for staff, directing them to appropriate tools and resolving issues independently
- Performs PSS 2 duties and takes on additional responsibilities in the Supervisor's absence
REQUIREMENTS
- High school graduation or equivalent
- Three years of Patient Support Service experience
- Equivalent education/experience may substitute for stated requirements

Compensation, Benefits and Position Details
Pay Range Minimum:
$24.60 hourly
Pay Range Maximum:
$35.21 hourly
Other Compensation:
Evening Shift Differential: $1.75 per hourNight Shift Differential: $2.50 per hourWeekend Differential: $2.00 per hour
