Greystones Group has an opportunity for a Technical Writer/Editor to support a Navy customer in the Washington D.C. area. This project is in support of implementing process improvements and policy updates. This candidate will develop, review, and manage technical documentation in support of Department of Navy programs. This position will be in the Washington D.C. area; however, if the candidate?s unique skills and experience would result in considerable value added to the customer, the position can be performed at remote locations and/or telework.

Salary range starting at $55k

Responsibilities:

  • Develop, write, edit, and format a variety of documents including memorandums, instructions, policy documentation, and correspondence/documentation.
  • Ensure all documentation complies with DoD/DoN policies.
  • Collaborate with subject matter experts (SMEs), engineers, program managers, and stakeholders to gather source material and technical data.
  • Edit documents for clarity, consistency, grammar, style, and adherence to required templates and standards.
  • Support the development of program documentation required for milestone reviews and audits.
  • Maintain version control of technical documents and ensure proper document configuration management.
  • Assist with preparing materials for briefings, proposals, and official submissions.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor?s degree in Engineering, Business Administration, Operations Management or related discipline, ten (10) or more years of experience in creating/editing technical materials -OR
  • High school degree, fifteen (15) or more years of experience of operations management support, and thirteen (13) or more years of experience in creating/editing technical materials.
  • Specialized experience in Navy Modernization, Engineering Change Management or ISO 9001 - QMS and CMMI Level III Principles and Practices is a plus.
  • Proficiency with tools such as Microsoft Word and Adobe Acrobat.
  • Ability to develop, maintain, and update large documents and manuals.
  • Active Secret clearance required.
