Job description

Cognizant Workday Practice is seeking a Data Consultant with experience in Workday Financials and finance data transformation. As a Data Consultant, you will guide clients through the transformation, implementation, and operation phases of a Workday Financials implementation, with a focus on data migration, validation, and optimisation.

This role is best suited for self-starters who are eager to work across a range of clients and engage in all phases of Workday system implementations. You will join a collaborative, fast-paced consulting practice supported by experienced mentors and strong learning opportunities.

Responsibilities:
  • Become a Workday Financials Data expert, with knowledge of design, configuration, testing, and implementation.
  • Partner closely with project teams and clients to deliver high-quality outcomes across all phases of implementation.
  • Utilize Workday tools such as iLoad, EIB, Object Transporter, Advanced Load, and Migration Recipe to support tenant-to-tenant migrations.
  • Design and develop data tracking, reconciliation, and monitoring tools to ensure financial data accuracy and integrity.
  • Map and convert data sources into data conversion templates, aligned to Workday Financials structures.
  • Guide clients through data extraction, cleansing, transformation, and loading processes.
  • Support data migration activities, including loading financial data, moving configuration between tenants, and aligning with business processes and security.
  • Develop ETL processes and data transformation logic to improve and normalise financial data.
  • Validate and reconcile data loaded into Workday, ensuring consistency with legacy systems and financial requirements.
  • Engage regularly with clients throughout the project lifecycle, ensuring a smooth transition from legacy systems to Workday Financials.
  • Manage multiple tasks under limited supervision, keeping stakeholders informed of progress, risks, and issues.
  • Participate in training and internal knowledge-sharing to continuously develop expertise.
Skills & Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Information Technology, MIS, Finance, or a related field.
  • Experience in ERP data conversion or financial systems implementation.
  • Experience with Workday Financials is essential
  • Understanding of financial data structures, including General Ledger, transactions, and reporting frameworks.
  • Experience with data conversion, migration, and data loading tools.
  • Strong Excel skills and experience working with large datasets.
  • Working knowledge of SQL or data querying tools (preferred).
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with high attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to work with both technical and functional stakeholders.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
  • Eligibility for SC Clearance (must have resided in the UK for the last five years and have the right to work in the UK).
