Job description

Step into an impactful educational environment where your expertise in special education makes a difference every day. This full-time contract opportunity near Denver, CO, focuses on providing exceptional instruction and support to students at Heritage High School throughout the academic year, starting August 11 and concluding May 21.

Candidates must possess a valid CDE Special Education (SPED) License with a Generalist Endorsement. Only those who currently hold, or have applied for this specific license (with documentation), will be considered. Substitute, temporary, interim, and hybrid/remote licenses are not accepted for this assignment; remote or hybrid roles are also not offered.

Qualifications & Desired Experience:

  • Active and valid Professional Teacher License with Special Education Generalist (5-21) endorsement (proof required if application is pending)
  • Demonstrated expertise in classroom teaching with a focus on special education
  • Proficiency in instructional strategies and Specially Designed Instruction for diverse learning needs
  • Solid track record of supporting students on alternative educational standards
  • In-depth understanding of the IEP process, progress monitoring, and legal compliance
  • Effective team collaboration with educators, related service providers, and family members

Responsibilities:

  • Deliver tailored instruction to students with varying abilities and educational needs
  • Develop, implement, and track individualized education plans (IEPs)
