Job description

POSITION: Remote Services Representative (Note: This is NOT a fully remote position - In person required in Bend, OR)
PRIMARY FUNCTION: Provides prompt, accurate, and courteous over-the-telephone service to members while processing routine financial transactions, researching issues, and answering questions. Cross sells Mid Oregon products and services and makes referrals to a Loan Officer or to Mid Oregon Financial Services as needed and/or directed. Assists members with opening and closing all types of share accounts including checking, IRAs and business accounts. Takes and reviews applications for consumer and business loans. Explains loan programs and advises members of loan options and requirements. Receives and processes loan applications including home equity loans. Interviews members, enters data on system, pulls credit reports, enters appropriate application notes, verifies that all required forms have been accurately completed and properly processed.
REQUIRED SKILLS: Pleasant, friendly demeanor; excellent customer service abilities in greeting members and making them feel comfortable; keyboarding including 10-key; accuracy in handling transactions; ability to grasp a variety of tasks and perform them efficiently and quickly; ability to retain knowledge of CU products and services, and offer them to members when appropriate; PC-proficient in a Windows environment; strong technological and digital channel skills
EXPERIENCE: One year to three years of similar or related experience.
EDUCATION: A high school education or GED.

WORK LOCATION: East Bend Branch
PROPOSED SCHEDULE: The work schedule is typically 8:05 a.m. to 5:05 p.m., Monday through Thursday and 9:05 a.m. to 6:05 p.m. Friday. Hybrid option after 6 months if eligible.

Physical Requirements:
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Speaking on the telephone approximately 25% percent of workday. May need to shovel snow occasionally outside the office to clear sidewalks, etc. Continuous sitting, standing, talking, and listening for extended periods of time, use of hands in repetitive tasks such as typing and writing, speaking, and hearing for interaction with members and coworkers, clarity of vision at 20 inches or less for processing of member transactions and computer usage, and memory demands in recalling Credit Union policies, services, and state and federal regulations. Occasional lifting up to 35 pounds to move supplies or office equipment, bending, squatting, or kneeling to reach supplies on ground level, reaching above shoulder level to reach supplies overhead.

Employees work in an office environment with average noise levels impacted by computers, printers, scanners, phones, and other surrounding conversations. The credit union is located in Central Oregon and weather during the winter may impact travel. Seasonal fires may impact air quality.
