Our client is seeking a Vice President, Earned Media to support a portfolio of national corporate communications accounts spanning the energy and enterprise technology sectors.

This role is ideal for a senior communications professional with deep relationships across top-tier U.S. media outlets and a track record of securing impactful national coverage for corporate brands and executives. The individual will serve as a trusted advisor to clients, develop proactive media strategies, and drive executive visibility programs for organizations operating in highly visible and often complex industries.

Responsibilities

  • Lead earned media strategy and execution across a portfolio of national corporate communications accounts.
  • Develop and pitch compelling stories to top-tier U.S. media outlets including business, national, technology, and energy press.
  • Build and maintain relationships with reporters, editors, producers, and influencers across major national publications.
  • Drive executive visibility programs for CEOs, CIOs, and other senior business leaders.
  • Counsel clients on media strategy, messaging, reputation management, and news cycle opportunities.
  • Identify proactive storytelling opportunities that align with business objectives and industry trends.
  • Manage day-to-day client relationships and serve as a trusted strategic advisor.
  • Partner with internal teams to execute integrated communications programs and mentor junior team members on account workstreams.
  • Navigate sensitive issues and high-profile media situations with sound judgment and strong communications instincts.

Requirements

  • 8 years of earned media, media relations, or corporate communications experience.
  • Agency experience strongly preferred.
  • Established relationships with national U.S. media, including outlets such as The Wall Street Journal, Bloomberg, Reuters, CNBC, Axios, Fortune, Associated Press, The New York Times, and similar publications.
  • Experience securing coverage in top-tier business, corporate, technology, and national media.
  • Background supporting executive visibility and thought leadership programs.
  • Experience advising senior-level stakeholders and client leadership teams.
  • Strong understanding of corporate communications and reputation management.
  • Experience within energy, clean energy, enterprise technology, cloud, AI, or related industries preferred.
  • Ability to manage multiple client accounts simultaneously in a fast-paced agency environment.
  • Exceptional communication, presentation, and client management skills.
