Job Title: Systems Engineer Location-Type: Hybrid, Manassas, VA preferred; fully remote considered Start Date: ASAP Duration: Contract- 6 month C2H Compensation Range: $50-65/hr W2 Benefits: Eligible for Health, Dental, Vision, and 401K Visa Sponsorship: Not eligible for visa sponsorship Job Description: The client is seeking a hands-on Systems Engineer to support the development of complex hardware/software systems, driving requirements gathering, MBSE modeling, and system documentation from early-stage concept through design maturity. Job Summary Apply systems engineering processes and best practices across the full development lifecycle. Support requirements gathering, decomposition, traceability, and validation as system definition matures. Develop and maintain systems engineering documentation, including requirements, architecture, interfaces, and technical analyses. Model system behavior, architecture, and interfaces using CAMEO/MagicDraw or similar MBSE tools. Work across hardware and software domains to understand system-level requirements, interfaces, and dependencies. Support engineering and design reviews by preparing technical content, presentations, and system-level artifacts. Collaborate with hardware, software, test, and other engineering disciplines to keep requirements and designs aligned. Minimum Requirements: 2-7 years of experience in a systems engineering role on complex hardware/software systems. Proficiency with CAMEO/MagicDraw or equivalent MBSE modeling tools, core daily function in this role. Experience with requirements development, management, decomposition, and traceability. Ability to create clear technical documentation and communicate system-level concepts in design reviews. Strong understanding of hardware/software interfaces and system integration. Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills. Preferred Qualifications: Experience with SysML and model-based systems engineering practices. Experience supporting SRR, PDR, CDR, or similar formal technical reviews. Experience with requirements management tools such as DOORS, Jama, or similar. Background in aerospace, defense, automotive, robotics, or other complex systems environments.
