Job description

Summary Fleet Services is seeking an experienced Business Systems Analyst to support the division's business processes, systems, and reporting capabilities. This position will work closely with a wide range of team members to provide technical support to the division's line-of-business specific technologies, while also providing analytical support to help business owners optimize their value streams and ensure their technological and reporting needs are met. Our ideal candidate will possess strong technical competencies for SaaS-style technologies, demonstrated analytical skills, and the ability to work both vertically and horizontally within teams to pair business needs and requirements with technology solutions.

This position will work closely with Fleet's Management Team, Fleet's Business Systems Analyst - Principal, external vendors, and other stakeholders and report directly to the Deputy Division Director. ABOUT FLEET SERVICES DIVISION The Fleet Services Division manages King County's portfolio of vehicles and equipment.

The team performs acquisition, maintenance, repair, replacement, and disposal of approximately 3,000 fleet assets for the County's services associated with the Sheriff's Office, Public Health, Roads, Parks, Wastewater, Water and Land Resources, and other agencies. The division manages two maintenance shops which include robust storerooms of automotive parts, materials, and construction supplies as well as several technicians working in the field to support remote customer sites. In addition, the Fleet Division is responsible for the disposition of the county's personal property assets, which includes a surplus warehouse in Georgetown.

Disposal methods can include re-use within the county, donation to verified and approved non-profits, and sales through online portals or sealed/negotiated bids. The mission of the Fleet Services Team is providing exceptional customer service in the delivery of equitable, sustainable, and dependable fleet solutions. Job Duties To be considered for this opportunity, you must demonstrate knowledge, skill, and ability to: Support, maintain, optimize, and provide general technical support to the division's line-of-business specific technologies. Troubleshoot and triage problems with technologies, including permissions, core functionality, reporting, and other problems. Understand business needs and requirements and translate those into technological solutions.

Create, maintain, and optimize PowerBI dashboards, with support from other DES and Fleet staff. Interact and collaborate with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders, vendors, and partners, sometimes in ambiguous settings with competing interests. Support projects of varying sizes, scopes, and complexities as a technical SME.

Produce analyses and other deliverables. Other duties, as assigned. Experience, Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills WE ARE LOOKING FOR CANDIDATES WHO: Have demonstrated experience with business processes and systems to analyze, sustain, improve, and optimize business solutions.

Are comfortable interacting with SaaS technology solutions and have experience with enhancements, integrations, and configurations of low to moderate complexity. Can interact with a broad range of stakeholders to understand their business needs and requirements, draft a menu of technical solutions to meet those needs and requirements, implement the desired solution(s), test the effectiveness of solutions, and help with future enhancements. Can investigate, resolve, and escalate technical problems and develop recommendations for resolution in collaboration with technology partners and other stakeholders.

Have demonstrated experience interacting with, and analyzing, raw data and building visual dashboards using PowerBI or other visualization tools. Have demonstrated experience using communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills to support project teams, including staff at all levels and the ability to manage competing perspectives to produce key deliverables. Have a basic understanding of project management principles.

Apply a lens of equity and social justice in their work and demonstrate inclusive behaviors as a team member. Can apply continuous improvement process principles such as (LEAN) and have experience facilitating process improvements. Demonstrate the ability to develop and present effective oral and written presentations to a variety of audiences.

Can communicate respectfully and effectively, both orally and in writing, with individuals from diverse backgrounds. The most competitive candidates must have knowledge of PowerBI reporting and SQL. VBA experience, or the ability to quickly learn, is strongly desired.

Supplemental Information WORK LOCATION: The Fleet Director's office team works in a hybrid model, with days in the office as well as telecommuting. The ratio of remote to onsite work will be dependent on business needs and is subject to change. The primary onsite location is at King Street Center at 201 S Jackson Street, Seattle, WA 98104.

Occasional travel to Fleet offices in Renton and Seattle's Georgetown neighborhood are required. WORK SCHEDULE: This position will work 8 hours per day, 5 days per week. Employees must reside in Washington state and within a reasonable distance to their King County worksite to respond to workplace reporting requirements.
