Job description

Position Title: Technical Manager / SME – Engineering Support

Location: Primarily desk-side / remote from the Contractor's office or home office (CONUS including Alaska, Hawaii, and outlying areas); occasional on-site support at DoD installations. OCONUS travel is highly unusual and only as required by individual task orders.

Clearance: Favorable NACI (minimum); ability to obtain installation access/CAC as needed.

Purpose / Customer Benefit: Supplies specialized engineering expertise for Real Property facility assessments, process reviews, and code compliance-offsetting Garrison shortfalls while strictly avoiding design or construction activities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide engineering support for Real Property facilities including process review, facility assessment, and review against codes and standards.
  • Perform facility condition assessments and recommend maintenance or improvement strategies (non-design).
  • Support various engineering disciplines as required by task order (civil, mechanical, electrical, fire protection, etc.).
  • As Technical Manager: Assign and review work across engineering disciplines; ensure consistency and quality.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, Fire Protection, or related Engineering field (Professional Engineer license preferred but not required).
  • Minimum 5 years of experience performing facility assessments, code reviews, or engineering support for DoD or Federal real property.
  • Knowledge of applicable building codes, UFCs, and facility sustainment processes.
  • Experience with condition assessment tools and reporting.
  • Must maintain IAT Level I and favorable NACI.

Success Metrics:

  • Assessment reports accepted and used for sustainment planning.
  • Zero findings related to engineering support exceeding 15% design effort.
