They develop and deliver course materials, lead virtual discussions, and assess student progress from a remote location. These instructors may work for colleges, universities, or online education providers, and often have real-world experience in supply chain roles. Their goal is to equip students with the knowledge and skills needed to work effectively in supply chain functions across various industries.

Familiarity with online learning platforms, supply chain management software, and virtual collaboration tools is essential. Strong communication, adaptability, and the ability to engage students remotely make an instructor stand out. These skills ensure effective teaching, up-to-date industry instruction, and successful student outcomes in a virtual environment.

Job description

We are seeking Director, Global Head of Strategic Sourcing (Strategic Procurement) to join IQVIA Laboratories at Durham, NC.

We hire passionate innovators who drive healthcare forward through thoughtful and inclusive collaboration. If you want to discover a career with greater purpose, join us as we transform and accelerate research and development.

In this senior leadership role, you will direct all aspects of global Strategic Sourcing for IQVIA Laboratories, overseeing approximately $600M in annual thirdparty spend across a diverse network of more than 1,000 vendors, with a strategic focus on a core portfolio of roughly 50-60 highvalue partners operating across multiple laboratory locations and geographies. You will lead a small, highimpact team to continue moving the maturity of the function from a predominantly savingsdriven sourcing model into value-based model, with embedded governance and Supplier Relationship Management (SRM) to maximizes value, mitigates risk, and support top and bottom line growth for the Laboratory business.

What You'll Be Doing:

  • Lead and develop the Global Strategic Sourcing team (6 AD / Manager level staff in total), setting strategic direction for Labs' external spend and focusing effort on the strategic vendors that represent the majority of approximately $600M in annual spend across a growing global laboratory footprint

  • Own the transformation from a mostly savings-focused procurement model to a broader value-focus, including a robust governance and SRM framework, including vendor segmentation, executive sponsorship, risk oversight, quarterly business reviews and scorecard-driven performance management to unlock value beyond price

  • Design and execute global sourcing, category management and SRM strategies across multiple business units and geographies, acting as the figurehead for adherence to IQVIA Corporate Procurement and Finance policies and driving competitive sourcing to ensure best-value and manage risk

  • Lead high-value sourcing projects and complex negotiations end-to-end, from opportunity identification and benchmarking through RFI/RFP/RFQ processes and contract execution supporting vendor partnership and internal business goals.

  • Champion data, analytics and digitization (e.g., Power BI, Source-to-Contract platforms, AI Agents) in Procurement, driving continuous process and quality improvements, representing Strategic Sourcing in senior stakeholder forums and customer bid defenses, and acting as the point of escalation for strategic supplier performance issues

What We Are Looking For:

  • Bachelor's Degree is required; a Master's Degree in a relevant discipline is preferred.

  • Extensive experience (typically 12+ years) in Strategic Sourcing, Procurement, Supply Chain Management or Materials Management in a highly regulated environment, preferably pharmaceutical or clinical development

  • Advanced working knowledge of MS Office applications and strong experience with analytics tools such as Power BI (or similar), as well as Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems and Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS)

  • Hands-on experience implementing and operating sourcing/procurement digitization, SRM and/or AI-driven tools and platforms to improve process efficiency, transparency and decision making

  • Other Equivalent combination of education, training, and experience may be accepted in lieu of degree

The Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Needed for This Role:

  • Proven track record of leading high-performing sourcing or procurement teams and influencing senior leaders across complex, matrixed organizations, including executive-level stakeholders and senior vendor partners

  • Strong analytical and numerical skills, with a proven track record of translating spend, risk and performance insights into practical strategies that drive measurable value from suppliers (cost, risk, innovation and top-line growth)

  • Excellent problem-solving, communication and stakeholder-management skills, with the ability to manage conflicting priorities, navigate change and build trusted relationships with internal and external partners globally

  • Enthusiasm for Procurement and value strategic vendor partnerships can bring. Seniority, subject matter expertise and gravitas to effectively support internal stakeholders and deliver value
