Aquatech has an immediate need for a full-time Industrial Engineer of Supply Chain & Procurement - Buyer to work in our Canonsburg, PA, office. The hours are Monday to Friday 8:00 am to 5:00 pm. The Industrial Engineer of Supply Chain & Procurement - Buyer will report to the Procurement Manager, will perform the duties described in the job description below, and will be considered an Exempt employee.

The ideal candidate will have a background in procurement, specifically within the technical commodities industry of valves, pumps, vessels, and other water treatment equipment. This candidate will have savvy negotiation skills, be highly organized, a relationship builder, customer service driven, and a team player.

Job Description:

  • Promptly purchase all commodities and technical equipment (e.g., pumps, valves, controls, vessels, and piping) for the manufacturer of water and wastewater treatment systems 
  • Copies data and compiles records and reports.
  • Operated computer terminal to input and retrieve data.
  • Purchases supplies.
  • Data entry of all purchase orders.
  • Assisting other departments when it is required.
  • Review requisitions.
  • Confers with vendors to obtain product or service information such as price, availability, and delivery schedule.
  • Prepares purchase orders or bid requests. Receive and contact vendors to find out the status of an order.
  • Contact vendors with discrepancies in quantity and quality.
  • I interfaced with all departments and resolved problems and issues with needed purchase items.
  • Review bid proposals and negotiate contracts within budgetary limitations and scope of authority.
  • Traveling when needed to meet project requirements.
  • This role can be done remotely but requires 30-50% travel

Skill Requirements:

  • Ability to get quotations from vendors for projects & review them.
  • Ability to negotiate supplier prices and purchase commodities for projects expediting to meet the due date.
  • Ability to approve supplier invoices, manage appropriate purchasing budget, check for missing material in the shop, and follow up on partial deliveries.
  • Ability to maintain budget reports.
  • Ability to handle nonconformance with the Quality department.
  • Knowledge of industrial water and wastewater treatment systems is preferred.
  • Prior purchasing experience with international vendors is desired.
  • Working knowledge of SAP.
