ABOUT THE ROLE

The Request Processing Specialist will maintain a professional demeanor when interacting with responsible parties, utilizing a variety of methods to research and validate key components necessary to generate subpoenas and authorizations for requested records. The Request Processing Specialist works with both proprietary computer systems/programs and the California State Electronic Adjudication and Management System (EAMS) in the performance of their duties.

  • Location: Rocklin, CA/ Hybrid-Remote
  • Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:00am-5:00pm
  • Compensation: $20.67-$25.96 Per Hour

The pay range for this role is $20.67-$25.96. Starting pay for new hires is typically within the lower third of the range: $20.67-$22.44. Exceptions may be made based on factors such as education, specialized skills, or significant relevant experience.

Requirements

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develop and demonstrate a full understanding of how to process various subpoena types related to the workers' compensation industry.
  • Order types include, but are not limited to, workers' compensation, Independent Medical Review (IMR), Subsequent Injury Fund (SIF), Serve and Close and Copy Only
  • Follow established process guidelines to ensure accuracy and completeness of prepared subpoena
  • Perform order verification through EAMS, Google searches, proprietary case management software, previous orders, etc.
  • Complete processing of a minimum of 38 locations per day
  • Have a rework percentage of less than 5%
  • Process amendments from queue in proprietary company database systems within 48 hours of entry
  • Re-verify order verification
  • Open and close issues in proprietary company database systems as necessary
  • Cancel location order based on established process guidelines
  • May provide general administrative support for the department, including tasks such as processing returned mail and maintaining accurate records
  • Demonstrate discipline to follow all active processes to ensure standardization
  • Demonstrate accuracy and consistency within work tasks
  • Meet departmental quality and quantity metrics
  • Adhere to all company policies and procedures, including, but not limited to, attendance, dress code and professionalism
  • Other duties as assigned

WHAT YOU BRING

  • Education and/or experience:
    • High School Diploma or equivalent required
    • 1+ year previous data entry or call center experience preferred
    • Internal transfer candidates should demonstrate knowledge of the workers' compensation industry and Gemini's role within the industry
  • Skills:
    • Typing skills 45+ WPM
    • Advanced time management and organizational skills
    • Strong verbal and written communication skills, including proof-reading, syntax, and grammar
    • Self-motivated, coachable and receptive to feedback
    • Ability to follow direction and process guidelines
    • Basic computer skills, including internet usage and data entry
    • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
    • Demonstrates time management skills
    • Keen attention to detail
    • High ethical standards
    • Ability to organize, prioritize and perform tasks with limited supervision
  • Technology:
    • Proficient using a computer, business phone, office software, video conferencing, and other computer programs including Google Workplace (Docs, Sheets, Calendar, Gmail, etc.)
