USAC is a non-profit, university-affiliatedstudy abroad organization headquartered on the campus of the University of Nevada, Reno. POSITION OVERVIEW

This positionis responsible for handling USAC-focused outreach and recruitingeffortsforUSACprogramsat the University of Nevada,Las Vegas.Thisposition will work closely with theUNLVStudy Abroad Stafftopromote USAC study abroad opportunities and torecruit UNLVstudentsfor USAC programs. This position will alsoserve asaUSAC-specificStudy AbroadAdvisoratUNLV.This position willbe a bridge betweenUNLVstaffandvarious USAC departments as needed.They willcreate, lead,andoverseeUSAC-relatedeventsyear-round ontheUNLVcampus,including IEWWeek and USACWeek; they willcreate USAC/UNLVrecruitingpromotionalmaterials, coordinate classroom presentations,various forms of outreach, events, activities, USAC knowledge-building on campus,and more.

Thisposition will be based at theUniversity of Nevada,Las Vegas.The positionis in person and based ontheUNLVcampus.A requirement of working on the UNLV campus issigning UNLVs Volunteer/Contingent Workeragreement, in addition to a USAC contract.This is aUSAC position.

This positionmay include some local travel in theLas Vegas andReno area.

This positionreportsto theUSACDirectorofInstitutional Relationsandispart of theInstitutional RelationsDepartment.
Some tasks willbereported to the UNLVInternationalProgramsDirector.


POSITION TYPE & EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK

This is an exempt position and will be paid on a salary basis. The office hours are Monday through Friday from 8 am to 5 pmlocal time zoneand may fluctuate oradditionalwork hours may berequired. Weekend and evening work hourswillalso berequired.

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES

Outreach, Recruitment, and Relationship Management

  • Develop and implement strategic outreach and recruitment initiatives on the University of Nevada, Las Vegas (UNLV) campus to increase awareness of and participation in USAC study abroad programs.
  • Serve as the primary liaison between USAC and the UNLV community, fostering andmaintainingrelationships with students, faculty, staff, administrators, campus offices, student organizations, residence life, and community partners.
  • Establish and expand partnerships across campus to support study abroad engagement and recruitment efforts.
  • Represent USAC at university-sponsored and community events, providing information about study abroad opportunities and promoting international education initiatives.

Campus Engagement and Programming

  • Plan, coordinate, and oversee USAC participation in campus recruitment and promotional activities, including study abroad fairs, information sessions, orientation programs, International Education Week events, USAC Week activities, and other outreach initiatives.
  • Organize and deliver presentations to students and campus stakeholders in classrooms, student organizations, residence halls, advising offices, and other campus venues.
  • Develop and manage outreach requests, event participation, and promotional opportunities both on campus and within the local community.
  • Maintain a visible and active presence on the UNLV campus to engage students and promote study abroad opportunities.

Student Advising and Support

  • Provide general advising to prospective and current students regarding USAC study abroad programs, application processes, program options, and participation requirements.
  • Guide students through the UNLV study abroad process and remain knowledgeable about university policies, procedures, and requirements.
  • Assiststudents in understanding financial resources available for study abroad, including financial aid opportunities and internal and external scholarships.
  • Support prospective students through the decision-making process by providingaccurateandtimelyinformation both in person and virtually.

Faculty and University Collaboration

  • Collaborate with Institutional Relations and Marketing and Communications teams to develop UNLV-specific recruitment materials and student resources.
  • AdviseUNLV faculty regarding USAC opportunities, including visiting professor programs, faculty-led initiatives, and other international engagement opportunities.
  • Partner with other USAC offices and university stakeholders to share effective outreach strategies, resources, and best practices.

Reporting and Administrative Responsibilities

  • Generate, track, andmaintainprospective student leads through approved outreach and recruitment channels.
  • Maintainaccuraterecords of prospective student inquiries, applicants, outreach activities, and recruitment outcomes.
  • Prepare reports, presentations, proposals, and other documentation for USAC leadership and university stakeholders.
  • Respond to inquiries from students, faculty, staff, and community members regarding USAC programs and services.
  • Manage inventory, requests, and distribution of USAC promotional and recruitment materials.

Work Environment

  • This position requires a consistent on-campus presence at UNLV. Active outreach, student engagement, event participation, and relationship-building efforts are essential functions of the role.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENC

  • Bachelors degree
  • 1-2 yearsinternational education-relatedexperiencepreferred
  • Experience living, studying, or working abroadpreferred.

QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS

  • Personal study abroad experience,and/ortravel or living abroad experience
  • A self-starterwith excellent customer service, human relations, and interpersonal skills
  • Strong analytical skills, creative problem-solving, project- and time-management skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work well independently inthe office
    and/or while at out-of-office events

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS

  • Prior professional experienceat UNLV,within the Nevada System of Higher Education (NSHE),and/or USAC
  • USACprogramalumnus

WORK ENVIRONMENT & PHYSICAL DEMANDS

The duties of this job areperformed fully in person on campusat UNLV.While performing the duties of this job, the employeeis regularly required tosit,and at timesstand, and walk. The employee isfrequentlyrequired to reach with hands and arms. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 15 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depthperception,and ability to adjust focus.Regular travel/movementaround the campus and in theLas Vegascommunity is an expected part of this position.

POSITION TYPE & EXPECTED WORKING HOURS

This is an exempt positionand willbe paid on a salary basis. The schedule is at least40 hoursper week. The normal working hours will be agreed upon with the manager & may fluctuate, oradditionalhours may berequired,possibly includingevenings & weekends. Position is based in Las Vegas, NV and is fully in person.
