• Establish meaningful and trusting relationships with clients, offering a confidential space for them to openly discuss their thoughts and feelings related to their alcohol use and broader mental health challenges.
• Employ evidence-based therapeutic techniques, including cognitive-behavioral therapy and motivational interviewing, to empower clients in overcoming obstacles and achieving their personal and mental health goals.
• Practice active listening and provide empathetic responses to ensure clients feel heard, valued, and validated during sessions.
• Work collaboratively with a diverse team of healthcare professionals, including social workers, psychologists, and school counselors, to deliver comprehensive care to clients, addressing their unique needs and backgrounds.
• Engage in continuous self-reflection and professional development opportunities to refine your counseling skills and stay updated with best practices in mental health care.

As an LMHC at Nimbus Therapy Services, you will primarily work with clients within the school environment, which includes children, adolescents, and their families. This demographic often faces challenges related to substance use, academic stress, peer relationships, and other mental health issues. Your support will directly contribute to fostering healthier coping mechanisms and enhancing overall well-being among this population.

• A Master's Degree in Social Work or a related field is required.
• A current license to practice as a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) in Washington State.
• At least two (2) years of experience in a social work or counseling role, with preference given to candidates who have five (5) or more years of experience.
• Exceptional interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills to effectively interact with clients, families, and team members.
• Proficient in computer skills, including experience with MS Word, Excel, and Outlook to maintain accurate records and manage documentation.

• Experience working in a school environment or with pediatric/adolescent populations is highly desirable.
• Familiarity with substance use treatment modalities and prevention strategies can enhance your effectiveness in this role.
• Background in integrating mental health services within educational frameworks is a plus.
