Position Title: Virtual Hostย 

Reports To: Virtual Program Site Managerย 

Date of Job Description: May 2026ย 

Position Type: Hourly, 8-20 hours/week, cycle dependentย 

Compensation: $21.50/hrย ย 

The Position

The Virtual Host supports the Reading Results virtual tutoring team by facilitating the web-based platform where tutoring takes place, greeting students and recording attendance.ย ย 

Essential Job Responsibilities and Outcomesย 

The Virtual Host's primary responsibilities are:

  • Opening the web-based video platform (Zoom) where tutoring is taking place
  • Creating breakout rooms
  • Greeting students as they enter the waiting room
  • Sending students into their Tutor's breakout rooms
  • Recording attendance
  • Assist with troubleshooting for virtual programming (connection issues, camera/microphone issues etc.)ย 

Skills and Qualificationsย 

The ideal candidate for this position will have the following skills and qualifications:

  • Access to reliable internet
  • Familiarity with Zoom
  • Attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skillsย ย 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Fluency in Spanishย ย
