You will engage with diverse populations across Columbia, Maryland, using telehealth technologies to connect with students and families. • Conduct comprehensive mental health assessments including psychosocial evaluations and diagnostic interviews to identify student needs and risk levels.
• Develop individualized treatment plans in collaboration with patients, caregivers, and educational staff, ensuring goals are culturally sensitive and informed by student input.
• Implement evidence-based therapeutic interventions, such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), for students both individually and in group settings.
• Provide crisis intervention services by assessing immediate needs and coordinating with educational staff and emergency services when necessary.
• Ensure meticulous clinical documentation, including progress notes and treatment summaries, aligning with state regulatory guidelines and organizational policies.
• Empower students and their families through psychoeducation, equipping them with the tools to manage mental health challenges effectively.
• Engage in collaborative care by sharing insights and updates with a multidisciplinary team, facilitating comprehensive support for students.
• Regularly conduct outcomes assessments to measure the effectiveness of treatment strategies, adjusting as required to maximize student support.
• Stay informed about advancements in mental health practices to continually integrate fresh perspectives and techniques into your therapeutic approach.
• Uphold ethical standards and ensure confidentiality around sensitive student information at all times.

This role primarily serves students, educators, and families within the school system, focusing on a range of mental health challenges such as anxiety, depression, trauma, and behavioral issues. As an LCSW, you will be an integral part of a supportive network that encourages students to thrive both academically and emotionally.

• A Master’s Degree in Social Work (MSW) is mandatory, with an active license as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in Maryland.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills are essential for establishing rapport with diverse students and families.
• Proven capacity for both independent and collaborative work within a multidisciplinary team setting.
• Proficiency in utilizing telehealth platforms for therapy sessions and consultations, along with a basic understanding of digital documentation systems.

• Experience working in school settings or with youth populations is highly desirable.
• Familiarity with evidence-based practices and interventions specific to youth mental health.
• Training in trauma-informed care principles or similar methodologies.
