This role operates in a fully remote capacity, providing flexibility while maintaining a strong connection with our team and the community we serve. Although the position is remote, you will have regular interactions with students, families, and colleagues through virtual platforms. The remote setup allows you to engage in effective teletherapy sessions, ensuring accessible mental health care for all students, regardless of their geographic location.

• Conduct thorough mental health assessments to evaluate students’ emotional, behavioral, and psychological concerns, while considering their individual backgrounds and circumstances.
• Develop and implement personalized treatment plans in collaboration with students and other healthcare professionals, aiming to enhance their emotional well-being and academic performance.
• Deliver evidence-based therapeutic interventions, including cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), and trauma-informed practices tailored to each student's unique needs.
• Facilitate individual and group therapy sessions, focusing on promoting personal development and teaching effective coping strategies for emotional regulation.
• Work closely with psychiatrists, psychologists, and other specialists to ensure a coordinated team approach to addressing the mental health needs of students.
• Offer immediate crisis intervention and emotional support during critical situations, employing de-escalation techniques and facilitating referrals for more intensive care as necessary.
• Educate students and their families about mental health disorders, therapeutic options, and community resources, fostering a supportive dialogue about mental wellness.
• Maintain detailed and accurate documentation of assessments, treatment plans, and progress notes in compliance with legal and ethical guidelines.
• Participate in regular team meetings, case discussions, and opportunities for professional growth, enhancing collective knowledge and service delivery.
• Continuously update your knowledge of laws, regulations, and ethical standards relevant to mental health practice in educational settings.

Your primary focus will be on the student population within our Community Health Clinic. This includes a diverse demographic, encompassing a range of mental health conditions, emotional challenges, and socio-economic backgrounds. By providing culturally competent care, you will ensure that every student feels valued and understood, thereby improving their integration into the educational environment.

• A Master's degree in Social Work from an accredited institution.
• Current, valid LCSW licensure in the state of Kansas.
• At least two years of post-licensure clinical experience, particularly in mental health or educational settings.
• In-depth knowledge of mental health disorders and a variety of evidence-based treatment modalities.
• Proficiency in conducting comprehensive mental health assessments and developing appropriate treatment strategies.
• Demonstrated experience in conducting both individual and group therapy sessions.
• Strong crisis intervention capabilities, with the ability to manage high-stress situations effectively.
• Excellent communication skills, with the capacity to build trust and rapport with a diverse student body and their families.
• Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems and basic computer proficiency.
• A collaborative mindset, ready to work as part of a multidisciplinary team.

• Experience working in a school setting or with adolescent populations is highly preferred.
• Knowledge of telehealth practices and remote therapy techniques.
• Background in trauma-informed care approaches.
• Experience with culturally responsive practices to meet diverse student needs.
