This position will be responsible for developing accurate and competitive estimates for data center infrastructure projects, with a primary focus on copper and fiber structured cabling systems

The ideal candidate has spent a significant portion of their career focused on estimating rather than primarily managing projects. The Estimator will collaborate with project managers, engineers, procurement teams, field operations, and vendors to develop project estimates, validate quantities and costs, support bids, and help ensure successful project delivery and profitability. Required Experience 5+ years of hands-on estimating experience for low-voltage/structured cabling projects.

Strong estimating experience involving both copper and fiber systems. Previous experience supporting hyperscale data center projects - required. Experience in either ISP or OSP environments.

Strong knowledge of Division 27 construction specifications, particularly within ISP environments. Demonstrated experience preparing estimates, material take-offs, bills of materials (BOMs), labor projections, and vendor quote comparisons. Ability to interpret blueprints, technical drawings, specifications, and scope documents.

Experience with data center infrastructure and mission-critical environments. Candidates whose backgrounds are primarily Project Management with only limited estimating responsibilities are unlikely to be a fit. The resume should clearly demonstrate substantial estimating experience.

Resume Requirement: All relevant experience must be clearly reflected on the resume. If a candidate possesses required experience that is not currently documented, the resume should be updated before submission. Key Responsibilities Prepare detailed cost estimates for data center infrastructure and structured cabling projects.

Perform material and labor take-offs for copper and fiber cabling systems. Develop BOMs, labor projections, and project cost summaries. Review and interpret drawings, specifications, RFPs, and project scopes.

Obtain and evaluate vendor and subcontractor pricing. Collaborate with engineering, project management, procurement, and field operations to validate quantities, labor requirements, and costs. Support preparation and submission of bids, proposals, and RFP responses.

Maintain historical cost data, unit pricing, labor rates, and vendor information. Analyze change orders and determine associated scope and cost impacts. Participate in pre-bid meetings, site visits, and project reviews as needed.

Ensure estimates are accurate, competitive, and aligned with project requirements. Identify opportunities to improve estimating processes, accuracy, and efficiency. Technical Skills Microsoft Excel Bluebeam Estimating software such as Trimble, Accubid, or PlanSwift Technical drawing and specification interpretation Structured cabling estimating Copper and fiber systems Division 27 specifications Data center infrastructure Preferred Qualifications Associate or Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related technical field.

Familiarity with BICSI standards. Knowledge of data center design and construction. Experience with vendor bid comparisons and RFP processes.

Exposure to cost control systems. Familiarity with AutoCAD, Revit, or construction scheduling software. Experience working in fast-paced, high-volume environments with tight deadlines and multiple stakeholders.

Ideal Candidate Profile The strongest candidates will have: A career focused substantially on estimating, not just project management. Proven experience estimating structured cabling in hyperscale data centers. Strong copper and fiber estimating expertise.

ISP/OSP experience. Excellent attention to detail and numerical accuracy. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

The ability to independently interpret technical documentation and develop accurate estimates. Strong communication and collaboration skills. The ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.

Interview Process The interview process is expected to be one panel interview, with the possibility of a single interview serving as the final selection stage. Additional Information Full-time, exempt salaried position. Direct-hire opportunity.

U.S.-based remote position. Preference for candidates located near Plano, TX. Travel of up to 15%, primarily for meetings and activities at the company's Plano-area headquarters

A valid driver's license is required.
