Job description

Position Summary

ANSER is seeking anย Expert Systems Engineer to support enterprise-level geospatial intelligence (GEOINT) systems engineering efforts across the National System of Geospatial-Intelligence (NSG), Allied System of Geospatial-Intelligence (ASG), and Federal Agency environments. You will provide technical leadership in requirements engineering, systems integration, cloud-based solution development, and strategic engineering initiatives supporting mission-critical national security programs. You will serve as a trusted advisor to government stakeholders while leading complex engineering assessments, modernization efforts, and cross-organizational integration activities.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities

  • Lead and support multi-disciplinary systems engineering activities across NSG, ASG, and Federal Agency programs.
  • Assist the Government in directing requirements engineering, solutions engineering, systems integration, and test and evaluation activities.
  • Analyze and maintain traceability of user requirements, system architectures, and technical solutions.
  • Evaluate cloud service capabilities, workflow processes, and scheduling limitations to improve system performance and operational efficiency.
  • Advise Government stakeholders on proposed solution designs, modernization strategies, and emerging technologies.
  • Translate mission and customer needs into technical requirements, system capabilities, and engineering solutions.
  • Support requirements allocation across systems architecture components and executing programs.
  • Conduct and support systems integration activities across complex enterprise environments.
  • Lead or support Analysis of Alternatives (AoAs), Courses of Action (CoAs), Trade Studies, and Engineering Assessments.
  • Support strategic technical planning, project management, performance engineering, and risk management initiatives.
  • Provide technical guidance relating mission objectives, strategic plans, and capability development efforts.
  • Integrate systems and engineering activities across organizational, agency, and governmental boundaries.
  • Support engineering efforts across cloud, hybrid, and on-premises infrastructures.
  • Mentor and oversee senior-, mid-, and junior-level systems engineers.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional government and contractor teams supporting GEOINT mission operations.

Required Qualifications

  • Active TS/SCI with Poly
  • Bachelor's degree in systems engineering or a related STEM field such as Engineering, Physics, Mathematics, Operations Research, Engineering Management, Computer Science, Information Technology, or Management Information Systems. Equivalent additional experience may be substituted for degree requirements.
  • 18+ years of experience supporting government or industry programs involving DoD/IC acquisition processes, requirements processes, PPBES, or systems engineering for large complex System of Systems or Service-Oriented Architecture environments.
  • Demonstrated strong understanding of the systems engineering lifecycle.
  • Demonstrated expertise in systems engineering lifecycle processes, large-scale system-of-systems integration, and DoD/IC acquisition environments.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of current NSG/ASG and NRO enterprise environments.
  • Previous NGA and/or NSG/ASG program or project experience.
  • Previous Intelligence Community (IC) or Department of Defense (DoD) program/project experience.
  • Experience supporting systems integration, enterprise engineering, and technical modernization efforts.
  • Experience working in cloud, on-premises, or hybrid enterprise infrastructures.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree or higher in Systems Engineering or related STEM discipline.
  • Working knowledge of Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) processes, tools, and languages.
  • Software Development Framework certification.
  • INCOSE Expert Systems Engineering Professional (ESEP) certification.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license.
  • Membership or leadership participation in professional organizations such as ACSM, ASCE, ASPRS, OGC, SAREM, or USGIF.
  • Extensive experience in geospatial intelligence (GEOINT) environments.
  • Experience engineering solutions using cloud-based technologies.
  • Experience engineering solutions utilizing structured and unstructured Big Data platforms.
  • Experience engineering solutions leveraging automation, augmentation, and Artificial Intelligence (AI) technologies.
  • Demonstrated expertise in photogrammetry, remote sensing, image science, geographic information systems (GIS), geomatics, or related disciplines.
  • Experience supporting enterprise modernization and digital transformation initiatives within the DoD or IC communities.
