• Conduct comprehensive assessments to diagnose mental health conditions when necessary, utilizing tools like the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders (DSM) to inform clinical decisions.
• Develop and implement personalized treatment plans that consider cultural diversity and the unique needs of the patient population.
• Continuously monitor patient progress using established methods and interventions, ensuring adjustments are made to support therapeutic goals.
• Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation, including treatment records and reports, adhering to all regulatory guidelines and organizational protocols.
• Collaborate with patients, their families, and other health care providers to create multidisciplinary treatment strategies that align with patients’ goals.
• Facilitate referrals to appropriate external providers, serving as a liaison in the treatment continuum.
• Provide educational opportunities and mentorship to interns, students, and volunteers, enhancing their skill sets and growing the next generation of clinicians.
• Participate in clinical supervision activities, peer reviews, and team meetings to foster professional development among colleagues.

In this role, you will primarily work with individuals and families navigating the complex emotional landscape related to cancer diagnoses. Your expertise will empower clients to cope with mental health challenges, focusing on resilience and recovery in the face of adversity. By applying evidenced-based strategies, you will help enhance patients’ overall quality of life and support their journey towards healing.

• A Master’s degree in Social Work from an accredited institution.
• Current licensure as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in the state of Virginia.
• Demonstrated understanding of evidence-based therapies and treatment methodologies.
• Strong organizational skills and proficiency in utilizing digital technology for clinical documentation and patient management.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a focus on building therapeutic relationships.

• Experience working with cancer patients and their families is highly desirable.
• Background in collaborative care models or experience with team-based approaches in a clinical setting.
