Kentro is hiring a remote Staffing & Workforce Operations Lead to support our Veterans Affairs ESOM contract. The Staffing & Workforce Operations Lead supports the Workforce Management Lead by leading staffing visibility, workforce tracking, staffing action management, onboarding and clearance status coordination, and workforce readiness across the ESOM program. This role ensures approved staffing requirements are accurately tracked, coordinated, and monitored from demand identification through recruiting coordination, onboarding visibility, and resource start.
This role integrates and coordinates across those teams to ensure staffing needs are clearly defined, prioritized, and acted on quickly. By integrating directly with execution leads, the role helps confirm demand, clarify requirements, validate candidate alignment against approved labor categories, identify blockers early, and drive coordinated follow-through from requisition through onboarding. This integrated approach is intended to improve workforce visibility, reduce staffing cycle time, mitigate delays, and accelerate time-to-fill across the program.As the Workforce Management function grows, this role may oversee Workforce Coordinators, Staffing Analysts, Onboarding/Clearance Status Coordinators, or other workforce operations support resources.
Location: This position can be performed remotely within the United States and will support Eastern Time working hours.
Responsibilities
Workforce Operations Leadership
  • Lead day-to-day workforce operations tracking across ESOM workstreams.
  • Maintain the master workforce tracker, staffing action logs, vacancy tracking, onboarding status, clearance status, and resource assignment data.
  • Establish recurring staffing review rhythms, workforce update cadences, action item follow-up processes, and risk escalation routines.
  • Support development of repeatable workforce operations processes that can scale across ESOM and future programs.
  • Provide direction to future workforce coordinators, staffing analysts, or related support resources.

Staffing Coordination and Visibility
  • Maintain real-time visibility into staffing demand, staffing supply, vacancies, backfills, surge needs, resource transitions, and pending onboarding actions.
  • Coordinate with Talent Acquisition to track recruiting pipeline status for approved open positions.
  • Coordinate with the PMO to monitor onboarding and clearance progress.
  • Track resource-level information, including employer, project/workstream, labor category, clearance level, location, start date, and staffing status.
  • Identify delayed staffing actions, onboarding risks, clearance delays, workforce data gaps, and staffing execution risks.

Candidate Qualification and LCAT Alignment Support
  • Validate candidate qualifications against approved labor categories, role requirements, clearance requirements, and staffing needs.
  • Coordinate with the Intake Lead when approved labor category mappings require clarification or adjustment.
  • Identify candidate qualification gaps, LCAT alignment concerns, and risks that may affect staffing approval or customer acceptance.
  • Ensure staffing actions align with approved intake decisions, labor category mappings, and program staffing priorities.
  • Support staffing feasibility assessments for new or pending intake requests when requested.

Staffing Risk and Action Management
  • Lead staffing action management, including open action logs, issue trackers, aging actions, and escalation recommendations.
  • Support surge staffing, option year transitions, recompete staffing planning, backfill planning, and contract modification-related staffing impacts.
  • Prepare recurring staffing status updates for workforce governance meetings.
  • Support resource transition planning and workforce readiness reviews.
  • Escalate material staffing risks to the Workforce Management Lead with recommended actions.

Stakeholder Coordination
  • Coordinate information flow among the Workforce Management Lead, PMO, Talent Acquisition, project managers, partner/subcontractor representatives, and onboarding/security stakeholders.
  • Lead preparation of staffing review materials, staffing meeting notes, action item summaries, and follow-up documentation.
  • Document staffing decisions, dependencies, risks, and next steps.
  • Support leadership briefings related to staffing posture, workforce readiness, open actions, and staffing risk.

Reporting and Data Quality Support
  • Maintain accurate workforce source data in approved tools, spreadsheets, SharePoint, or other repositories.
  • Validate workforce tracker updates with PMO, project managers, Talent Acquisition, and partner points of contact.
  • Support reporting on open positions, time-to-fill, onboarding status, clearance status, staffing gaps, candidate pipeline status, and upcoming resource needs.
  • Provide workforce operations data to the Workforce Management Lead and other reporting stakeholders.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Human Resources, Operations Management, Project Management, Information Technology, or a related field; equivalent experience may be considered.
  • At least 8+ years of relevant experience in government contracting workforce coordination, staffing operations, PMO support, HR/recruiting coordination, program operations, or related fields.
  • Experience leading staffing tracking, workforce operations, resource coordination, or program support activities.
  • Strong understanding of staffing workflows, labor category alignment, onboarding dependencies, and workforce risk tracking.
  • Experience maintaining and improving trackers, staffing data, operational reports, or resource management data.
  • Strong Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Teams, and SharePoint skills.
  • Strong organizational, follow-up, stakeholder coordination, and documentation skills.
  • Ability to lead recurring meetings, manage action items, and escalate risks.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience supporting federal contracts or government programs.
  • Familiarity with SOWs, PWSs, labor categories, staffing requests, onboarding workflows, clearance processes, and subcontractor resource tracking.
  • Experience working with PMO, Talent Acquisition, HR, recruiting, program management, or security/onboarding teams.
  • Experience developing standard operating procedures, process workflows, governance routines, or staffing dashboards.
  • PMP, ITIL Foundation, SHRM, or other relevant certification.

Clearance Requirement:
  • US Citizen or Green card holder
  • Willing and able to obtain and maintain Public Trust Clearance
