JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
The Pennsylvania State University at Harrisburg, School of Business Administration, Technology Department is seeking part-time lecturers to teach undergraduate courses in our Information Technology majors for the Fall 2025 Semester and beyond. Here is a list of the following potential teaching opportunities:
These openings are one semester and non-tenure track with the possibility of reappointment.
Job Duties
Part-time instructors typically teach one to three courses per semester on campus related to undergraduate Information Systems. Part-time lecturers prepare course lessons, evaluate students, hold regular office hours, and are expected to become proficient with Canvas, the University's learning management system.

    • Java, Python, and PHP development (including database, web, and mobile app dev)
    • Classes - IST 140, IST 242, IST 256, IST 311, IST 411, ETI 461, HCDD 340
  • Analyst / Integrator (Business and Data)
    • Collects, analyzes, and interprets data, processes, and requirements to help companies improve their performance (SAP a plus)
    • Classes - IST 420. IST 421
  • Database
    • Database design, relational data modeling, SQL query language (MySQL)
    • Optimization and Performance tuning DB concepts, ACID properties
    • Data cleaning and integration, query decomposition, and processing
    • Classes - IST 210, ETI 461, ETI 463
  • Enterprise Analytics & Web Stacks
    • Analytics and big data, ROI in analytics, using analytics for improved organization performance
    • Enterprise stack platforms, cloud-based infrastructure solutions

  • Human Computer Interaction- Usability (UX/UI)
    • Use social, cognitive, and data-driven research to understand the context of use and the user experience.
    • Translates concepts into user flows, wireframes, mockups, and prototypes that lead to intuitive user experiences
