Summary
Are you driven by an entrepreneurial spirit? Ready to elevate your career in sales to new heights? Yelp is on the lookout for a dynamic and results-driven sales professional who has a proven track record of success in a fast-paced, high-growth company. Join Yelp's growing Partner Sales division.
As the driving force behind this entrepreneurial venture, you will forge connections with senior executives in the local advertising industry, nurture and expand existing relationships, and orchestrate cross-functional partnerships with direct exposure to senior management within our organization.
The primary mission of the Partner Account Director 1 role is to enhance and expand Yelp's footprint by cultivating relationships with agencies and third-party entities focused on the SMB market. These agencies collaborate with Yelp to both resell and procure our local product offerings.
The ideal candidate for this position will possess the agility to swiftly grasp the intricacies of our business and effectively convey the value of our products and partnership program. This role demands a highly motivated and dynamic individual who excels at forging strategic alliances and generating new business opportunities. The ideal candidate thrives on a consultative sales approach, comprehending agency models, and uncovering the needs and decision-making criteria of potential clients. Ultimately, you will be accountable for achieving and surpassing revenue targets.
Please note that while this role is a remote position, it is required that the candidate resides within the Pacific or Mountain time zones of the continental US.
What you'll do:
  • Foster strong, collaborative business relationships between Yelp and SMB (mainly local) agencies and their advertisers.
  • Consistently surpass sales targets by delivering new partner-driven revenue every quarter.
  • Lead the partnership and deal-origination process, overseeing every stage from strategy and planning to pipeline development, outreach, implementation, and ongoing growth.
  • Create compelling and consultative sales presentations that showcase how Yelp's advertising products can effectively engage consumers.
  • Represent our company as an advocate and spokesperson at industry events.
  • Contribute to shaping the future direction of Yelp's advertising partner program.
  • Develop and maintain partner relationships to ensure the achievement of assigned goals.
  • Analyze agency structures, identify key decision-makers, budget holders, and the agencies' decision-making processes.
  • Cultivate ongoing relationships with agencies, validate advertisers' needs, and maintain the prominence of Yelp's partnership.
  • Collaborate seamlessly with cross-functional teams to drive revenue growth with new clients.
  • Begin each workday with a positive attitude and a determination to succeed.

What it takes to succeed:
  • You have a minimum of 5-8 years of experience in agency and partner sales, business development, or digital sales roles.
  • You are familiar with Yelp's advertising products, APIs, and channel programs within the industry, such as those offered by Google, Bing, or Facebook (preferred).
  • You have a demonstrated history of successfully achieving sales targets in previous positions.
  • You have an extensive network of contacts within the tech industry, spanning from startups to well-established brands.
  • Your communication skills are influential and effective across all forms, including written communication, presentations, negotiations, and attentive listening.
  • You possess a genuine passion for our company's products, as well as other consumer internet/mobile offerings.
  • You have a flexible, startup-oriented mindset and can excel in a highly dynamic, fast-paced work environment.
  • You view yourself as self-motivated, a team player, and have a strong drive to exceed targets.
  • You are comfortable with necessary travel for the role. (25%)

What you'll get:
  • Effective your first day: Full medical, vision, and dental
  • Mental health support and services via Modern Health
  • 15 days PTO (accrual begins on date of hire and increases with 2+ years of tenure thereafter), 12 paid holidays, plus one floating holiday
  • Up to 14 weeks of parental leave
  • Monthly wellness subsidy
  • Flexible spending account
  • 401(k) retirement savings plan
  • Employee stock purchase plan
  • Professional development reimbursement
  • Work from home reimbursement
  • Target salary base is $92,500
  • This role is also eligible to earn uncapped quarterly incentive compensation (sales commissions).
  • Target annual compensation for this role is $160,000, which includes base salary and quarterly incentive compensation assuming minimum performance expectations are met.
