Job description

Position Scope:

This position is responsible for the mobilization and initial engagement of prospective missionary employees, guiding individuals from their first point of contact through the early stages of the application process. With a focus on identifying, recruiting, and encouraging those exploring cross-cultural ministry, the Global Mobilizer plays a vital role in helping raise up new workers for the harvest and shepherding them toward missional service with Communitas.


This role provides leadership in candidate cultivation and recruitment efforts, including building relationships with prospective missionaries, facilitating discernment conversations, maintaining engagement throughout the recruitment pipeline, and ensuring a smooth transition into the formal application process. Working closely with a small team, the Global Mobilizer helps develop and implement strategies that increase awareness of missionary opportunities and identify individuals called to serve internationally.


A key focus of this role is fostering meaningful connections with prospective missionaries while also understanding the ministry needs and opportunities within Communitas fields and projects. Through relational engagement, effective communication, and thoughtful coordination, the Global Mobilizer serves as a bridge between those exploring missionary service and the ministries where God may be calling them to serve.


Principal Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for prospective missionary candidates.
  • Build relationships with individuals exploring international ministry opportunities.
  • Guide candidates through initial discernment conversations and next steps.
  • Manage and track candidate engagement throughout the recruitment pipeline.
  • Coordinate communication, follow-up, and handoff to the formal application process.
  • Assist in developing and implementing recruitment and mobilization strategies.
  • Represent Communitas at conferences, events, and networking opportunities as needed.
  • Maintain accurate candidate records within applicant tracking and database systems.
  • Collaborate with team members to improve processes and enhance candidate experiences.
  • Support the organization's mission by identifying and encouraging future ministry leaders.

Qualifications:

  • Education & Experience
    • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Communications, Marketing, Psychology, Ministry, or a related field preferred.
    • 1-2 years of leadership, recruiting, ministry, coaching, or related experience.
    • International ministry experience or experience living cross-culturally strongly preferred.
    • Experience working with applicant tracking systems, databases, or CRM platforms preferred.

Funding:

This position is funded through personal ministry partnership development (support raising), which covers both salary and ministry-related expenses. Individuals who are self-employed or serving in a bi-vocational capacity are encouraged to apply. Communitas provides onboarding, training, coaching, and ongoing support to help team members build and sustain a healthy ministry partnership team.
