About the Role Eightfold is building the next generation of Agentic AI products that help millions of people and enterprises make better talent decisions. We're looking for a Software Engineer to design and build highly scalable, user-facing product features across frontend and backend systems. In this role, you'll work on AI-powered, autonomous product experiences, collaborating closely with product managers, designers, and AI/ML engineers to bring intelligent agents to life in production.

This is a true product engineering role-you'll own features end-to-end and see your work used globally at scale. We're looking for a Software Engineer to help build Eightfold's next generation of Agentic AI product features. In this role, you'll design and implement high-impact frontend and backend product experiences used by millions of users globally.

You'll work closely with Product, Design, and AI/ML teams to turn intelligent systems into intuitive, scalable, and reliable product features. This is a hands-on engineering role focused on shipping production-grade software, not research or experimentation-only work. What You'll Do Build and ship AI-powered product features using LLMs, NLP, and agent-based workflows Develop backend services and APIs that support model inference, orchestration, and tool execution Implement LLM workflows, including pipelines, retrieval (RAG) systems, and goal-oriented agent behaviors Work closely with Product Managers and Designers to turn AI-driven ideas into working features Collaborate with ML engineers to integrate, evaluate, and productionize models Write clean, maintainable, and well-tested code Participate in code reviews and contribute to technical discussion Help improve system performance, reliability, and scalability What We're Looking For 1-2 years of professional software engineering experience Strong experience building backend or full-stack applications Proficiency in Python and at least one other language (Java, Go, or TypeScript) Hands-on experience integrating LLMs, NLP, or ML-powered features Familiarity with APIs, distributed systems, and backend services Understanding of prompting, embeddings, and model inference Solid software engineering fundamentals (testing, debugging, system design) Product mindset with a focus on real-world impact and usability Nice to Haves Experience with agentic systems, workflows, or orchestration frameworks Exposure to RAG Architecture Design & Evaluation Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure) Experience working in AI-first or fast-moving product teams Why Eightfold Experience with agentic systems, workflows, or orchestration frameworks Exposure to RAG architecture Design & Evaluation Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure) Experience working in AI-first or fast-moving product teams Tech Stack Languages & Frameworks: Python, Flask, React, Typescript, Webpack, NextJS.

Pay Transparency Please note this role is categorized as hybrid in Santa Clara, CA The base salary ranges below are provided for pay transparency. Base pay is only one piece of our total compensation package as this role may be eligible for bonus and equity awards. Compensation varies depending on a number of factors including qualifications, skills, competencies, experience and zone.

Zones are determined by location. Zone A is SF Bay Area, CA . Zone A Base annual salary base range: $120,750 to $161,000 + discretionary annual bonus up to `10% + preIPO equity (stock options).
