Job description

A DAY IN THE LIFE

As a Senior Engineer supporting Energy Parks, you'll help develop and deliver some of the industry's most complex and innovative energy infrastructure projects. A typical day may involve collaborating with engineering and project teams, reviewing designs and technical studies, solving engineering challenges, supporting equipment and system integration, and mentoring junior engineers. You'll contribute to projects that combine renewable energy, gas generation, battery storage, substations, transmission systems, controls, and data center infrastructure into integrated energy campuses designed to meet the growing demand for reliable power.

STEP INTO THE ROLE

  • Reads and understands the electrical scope of projects that are in RFP/estimating phase. Develops a plan/design that incorporates power quality, reliability, cost efficiency, and Blattner Energy lessons learned into each proposal.
  • Support the design, development, and execution of large-scale Energy Parks and integrated energy campus projects.
  • Provide technical expertise across electrical, mechanical, controls, and utility infrastructure systems.
  • Review engineering designs, specifications, studies, and technical documentation to ensure compliance with project requirements and industry standards.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop innovative solutions for complex energy infrastructure projects.
  • Directs a team that generates design drawings and documents for the Estimators and Supply Chain to bid. Ensures takeoffs are complete and accurate.
  • Coordinate with other Senior Engineers to establish plans for resources and design schedules on project designs.
  • Performs drawing reviews of 3rd party engineering firms design packages to ensure designs meet industry and Blattner's standards and best practices.
  • Ensures that designs support safe work practices and comply with all applicable safety standards including NESC, NEC, and NFPA.

WHAT YOU'LL NEED

  • Bachelor's degree in electrical or mechanical engineering, or related field from an ABET accredited college required.
  • Five or more years of progressive engineering, engineering supervisory, and/or construction/field experience in a related industry (i.e., heavy civil, industrial, utilities, power generation) required.

WHAT SETS YOU APART

  • Experience supporting integrated energy infrastructure projects that combine multiple technologies such as gas generation, battery energy storage systems (BESS), substations, transmission, renewable energy, and data center infrastructure.
  • Utility-scale power generation experience, including combined cycle, gas turbine, or other dispatchable generation facilities.
