Job description

A DAY IN THE LIFE

As a Lead Engineer - Studies, you'll lead the execution of electrical studies across a portfolio of concurrent bids and project work. You'll set the technical standard: establish study templates and QA/QC practices for the company. Serve as the primary study point of contact for owners and EOR teams and review third-party study packages for completeness and compliance. Your day moves between technical execution, staff development, and cross-discipline coordination with Project Engineering, Estimating, Supply Chain, and Construction - all in support of competitive bids and buildable designs. Projects may include Wind, Solar, Energy Storage, Gas and Data Centers.

STEP INTO THE ROLE

  • Executes and oversees a variety of power system studies; Short Circuit, Reactive Power Flow, Annualized Energy Loss, and Ampacity studies being the primary to support derisking bids and projects.
  • Establishes and maintains study templates, methods, and QA/QC practices across the department.
  • Reviews and validates EOR study packages for completeness, accuracy, and compliance.
  • Coordinates with Project Engineering, Estimating, Integrated Supply Chain, and Construction on equipment and material selection across the project lifecycle.

WHAT YOU'LL NEED

  • Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from an ABET-accredited college (or relevant equivalent experience); PE license required or obtainable within one year of hire.
  • Seven or more years of electrical studies experience, with demonstrated proficiency across protection & planning, equipment sizing & rating, and electromagnetic compatibility.
