The Center for Advanced Transportation Technology (CATT) Laboratory is the industry leader for transportation information analysis, visualization, and user interface design. We provide cutting-edge analytics products and an integrated suite of situational awareness tools for transportation practitioners. When you join our team, you will work to define, document, and test a wide variety of transportation data analytics and operations applications. You will learn new skills and stay current with industry best practices and emerging technologies.
The CATT Lab is looking to hire a Requirements Analyst. In this position, you will work with a team of product owners, UI/UX designers, software developers, and software testers. software testers, software developers, and project managers. This position requires strong communication skills to define functional and quality requirements that allow teams to plan the project and to design, build and validate the product. The Requirements Analyst should serve as a communication bridge between development stakeholders. Knowledge of transportation or GIS systems is particularly helpful.
Essential duties and responsibilities:
Elicit, document, refine, and manage technical requirements for multiple projects including web-apps, APIs, and data-related projects.
Identify project stakeholders and user classes.
Schedule and lead requirements walkthrough and review sessions for UX designers, developers, program managers, and QA
Analyze user interface mockups and wireframes to document requirements, identify gaps in functionality, and recommend improvements.
Work with management to manage changing requirements and minimize scope creep.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field
2+ years of experience performing requirement analysis in a software development environment
1+ years of experience working on software implementation projections.
Experience interviewing executives to gather and document technical requirements and map processes.
Experience working with developers and UX designers to create organized comprehensive software requirements
Experience working with ticket tracking, documentation, and code tracking systems such as Jira, Confluence, and BitBucket
Preferences:
Experience with large-scale data analysis
Leadership experience
3+ years of related software industry experience
Experience mentoring interns
Experience testing web applications
Experience using and documenting application programming interfaces (APIs)
Physical Demands
Sedentary computer-based work. Repetitive motion. Substantial movements (motions) of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers. The worker is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as: preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; extensive reading.
