Required Education Level: Bachelors in Engineering, Computer Science, Systems, Business or related scientific /technical discipline

Required Experience (Years): 10

Substitution Criteria: 8 years of additional relevant experience may be substituted for education

Description:

  • Support the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) Electronic Health Record Modernization (EHRM) program as a Project Manager for the Core and Cross Cutting Clinical Portfolio. The Project Manager will develop, refine and oversee execution of processes supporting EHRM-IO's mission and in support of Core and Cross Cutting Solutions such as Community Data Integration, Interoperability and Emerging Technology.
  • Oversee and/or executes high-visibility, strategic projects aligning functional and technical expertise in support of cross-functional decision making.
  • Uses project and program management methodology to drive delivery within timeline without forfeiting quality.
  • Develops and reviews internal and external briefing materials and deliverables.
  • Serve as documentation and presentation developer for the portfolio team through rapid development of strategic plans, Executive-level presentations, SOPs, and other work products as required
  • Provide analysis and input to capability roadmaps and other project artifacts which outline all activities, requirements and risks associated with work efforts.
  • Addresses changes to product/project scope, schedule, methods to document and analyze proposed changes for presentation to VA Leadership for decision.
  • Assess and make recommendations for mitigating technical or functional risks and issues related to interoperability solutions. Analyze, formulate, review, and recommend critical decisions to the government
  • Possess excellent oral and written communication skills. Experience with presenting technical solutions to senior-level executives.

Minimum qualifications:

  • 10+ years of professional work experience
  • Experience managing Information Technology related projects
  • Well versed in life cycle and project management methodologies
  • Experience in tracking costs, schedule and performance progress
  • Able to identify and mitigate risks.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Systems, Business or related scientific /technical discipline or an additional 8 years of relevant experience may be substituted for degree requirements

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience in the VA
  • Experience implementing electronic health records
