Job Summary

The Project Manager is responsible for delivering projects in alignment with established project governance frameworks. This role plans, directs, and coordinates activities across IT and business initiatives to ensure objectives are achieved within defined scope, timelines, and budget.

The position requires strong collaboration with Business Owners and Technical Leads to define delivery strategies, maintain transparency, and ensure robust project controls. The Project Manager operates in a structured PMO environment and plays a key role in driving execution, mitigating risks, and ensuring stakeholder alignment.


Key Responsibilities

Project Planning & Execution

  • Manage multiple medium to high complexity projects simultaneously.
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive project plans, including work breakdown structures (WBS), schedules, budgets, and resource allocations.
  • Ensure project delivery aligns with scope, timeline, cost, and quality objectives.
  • Drive execution by facilitating decisions, removing blockers, and maintaining delivery momentum.

Governance & Compliance

  • Adhere to established PMO governance, methodologies, and reporting standards.
  • Operate within a regulated, audit-conscious environment with strong documentation and control practices.
  • Maintain accurate project forecasts, track variances, and provide timely explanations.

Stakeholder Management

  • Partner with business owners and technical leads to define delivery strategy and execution approach.
  • Communicate project status, risks, and recommendations to executive leadership, sponsors, and steering committees.
  • Facilitate alignment across cross-functional teams in a matrixed organization.

Risk & Dependency Management

  • Identify, assess, and manage risks, issues, and mitigation plans.
  • Track and manage cross-project and external dependencies affecting scope, schedule, and delivery.
  • Escalate conflicts and issues appropriately to support timely decision-making.

Team & Resource Management

  • Coordinate resources across shared service teams and negotiate priorities in a matrix environment.
  • Manage team dynamics, resolve conflicts, and influence outcomes without direct authority.
  • Ensure timesheet compliance and resource utilization tracking.

Vendor & Implementation Oversight

  • Manage vendor procurement, engagement, performance, and deliverables.
  • Support organizational readiness, adoption planning, and implementation activities.

Continuous Improvement

  • Utilize tools such as Microsoft Project, JIRA, and emerging AI technologies to improve delivery efficiency.
  • Contribute to PMO continuous improvement initiatives and operational excellence.

Required Qualifications

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, IT, Engineering, or a related field
    (or equivalent combination of education and experience)

Experience

  • Minimum 5+ years of project management or delivery experience
  • Experience working within a formal enterprise PMO
  • Proven ability to manage medium to high complexity projects
  • Experience in:
    • Matrixed organizations with shared resources
    • Structured governance frameworks (phase-gate/tollgate)
    • Regulated or audit-driven environments
  • Experience with waterfall and hybrid methodologies

Technical Skills

  • Proficiency in:
    • Microsoft Project
    • JIRA or equivalent project tracking tools
  • Familiarity with collaboration and project management tools
  • Exposure to AI tools or prompt-based solutions (preferred)

Preferred Qualifications
