Job description

VetsEZ is seeking a highly skilled Senior Project Manager to lead critical program initiatives in support of enterprise healthcare modernization for a federal client. The Senior Project Manager will oversee multiple complex projects, manage cross-functional teams, and ensure alignment with program objectives, schedules, and deliverables. This individual will serve as the primary point of contact for government stakeholders, providing leadership, transparency, and accountability across the program lifecycle.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide overall project leadership and management of scope, schedule, budget, and quality.
  • Serve as the key liaison with government stakeholders, ensuring clear communication and alignment of project objectives.
  • Lead planning, execution, and monitoring of multiple, concurrent projects within the program.
  • Develop and maintain integrated master schedules, project plans, risk registers, and issue logs.
  • Track performance against milestones and deliverables, ensuring compliance with program and contractual requirements.
  • Facilitate recurring project status meetings, briefings, and updates for government leadership.
  • Proactively identify risks, issues, and dependencies; implement mitigation strategies to minimize impacts.
  • Oversee preparation and delivery of project documentation including reports, dashboards, presentations, and technical artifacts.
  • Ensure effective resource allocation across teams, coordinating with program leadership on staffing needs and priorities.
  • Foster collaboration between business, technical, and government teams to drive timely execution of tasks.
  • Mentor junior project managers and provide oversight to ensure adherence to project management best practices.
  • Support quality assurance processes and continuous improvement efforts.
  • Contribute to strategic planning and decision-making at the program level.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 10+ years of experience managing large-scale IT programs and projects, preferably in federal government or healthcare environments.
  • Demonstrated success in managing multiple, concurrent projects with competing priorities.
  • Strong understanding of project management methodologies (Agile, SAFe, and traditional waterfall).
  • Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and deliver high-quality outcomes under tight deadlines.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Proficiency with project management tools (MS Project, Jira, Confluence, or equivalent).
  • U.S. Citizenship and ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance.

Additional Qualifications:

  • Experience supporting Department of Veterans Affairs programs or similar large-scale federal healthcare initiatives.
  • PMP, PgMP, or SAFe Program Consultant (SPC) certification.
  • Familiarity with data integration, interoperability, or enterprise healthcare IT systems.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage program-level risks and dependencies.
