Role Overview:

A Project Manager plays a critical role in driving delivery, coordination, and execution across analytical initiatives within the Actuarial Strategic Modeling (ASM) organization. In this role, the Project Manager is highly people-facing and acts as a trusted delivery partner to internal leadership and executive stakeholders. This individual is responsible for preparing clear, leadership-ready materials that summarize progress, risks, decisions, and impacts, and for facilitating effective communication between technical teams and end users across actuarial, underwriting, IT, governance, and product organizations.

This role serves as a senior individual contributor within ASM, exercising strong ownership, initiative, and execution discipline. Success in this role requires the ability to work independently, manage complexity, and drive outcomes through influence, communication, and follow-through in a fast-paced, Agile environment.

The Project Manager serves as a central point of coordination across technical teams and business stakeholders, ensuring alignment between modeling priorities, implementation timelines, and enterprise delivery expectations.

Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate cross functional alignment across actuarial, underwriting, product, engineering, IT, and governance

  • Deliver clear partner communications, updates, and executive ready presentations

  • Manage plans, timelines, and dependencies across multiple ASM modeling projects

  • Track progress, surface risks, and drive accountability through consistent status reporting and RAID management

  • Support development and sequencing of ASM modeling roadmaps, including PI Planning

  • Coordinate governance and stage gate readiness, plus post deployment adoption and benefits tracking

  • Promote consistent, repeatable project processes across ASM

  • Provide assistance to teams regarding inquiries related to Rally and Agile methodologies

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

  • Minimum 3 years of project management experience leading complex, cross-functional initiatives in a matrixed environment, with demonstrated ability to work independently and drive execution without close supervision.

  • Proven experience managing multiple concurrent projects, including development and maintenance of integrated project plans, timelines, milestones, dependencies, and interlocks.

  • Demonstrated ability to drive accountability across teams by ensuring milestones are met, proactively identifying and escalating risks or blockers, and maintaining alignment across stakeholders.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to translate complex analytical or technical work into clear business-facing updates, risks, decisions, and impacts.

  • Experience supporting Agile delivery teams, including coordination of Agile ceremonies and PI Planning activities, without serving in a dedicated Scrum Master role.

  • Working knowledge of software delivery and implementation practices, including coordination with engineering and IT partners and support for UAT and release readiness activities.

  • Experience preparing leadership-facing materials, including clear, concise presentations and updates for senior leaders and executive audiences.

  • Ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced environment with parallel initiatives, competing priorities, and evolving timelines.

  • Experience using Rally for Agile planning, tracking, and reporting.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 5 to 7 years of project management experience with a consistent track record of delivering complex initiatives on time and with high execution quality.

  • Bachelor's degree strongly preferred

  • Strongly preferred experience in insurance, employee benefits, or related regulated environments, particularly roles involving actuarial, underwriting, or product stakeholders.

  • Experience supporting analytic, statistical, machine learning, or AI model development initiatives, including coordination across actuarial, data science, engineering, and IT teams.

  • Familiarity with model governance and control processes, including coordination of timelines for Model Risk activities, documentation tracking, and maintenance of model inventories.

  • Experience developing and maintaining delivery management artifacts such as RAID logs, dashboards, status reporting, and repeatable project templates.

  • Experience maintaining or supporting team collaboration and content management sites, including SharePoint.

  • Demonstrated ability to improve delivery consistency and transparency by implementing standard processes, tools, and templates across teams.
