Overview of job:

We are currently seeking a Project Manager to join our team in Montgomery Alabama. This can be a remote position with limited travel to the client’s site, 25% travel. 

The Project Manager will play a key role in the successful cutover and modernization of an MMIS to a cloud environment with major project enhancements. The Project Manager will be primarily responsible for the health of their cohort project. The Project Manager will be responsible for performing, delegating and managing the activities within the cohort project team, working closely with direct business partners and vendor teams. He/she will actively participate in the development and delivery of program and quality management services and associated deliverables.

Job Responsibilities Include:

The Project Manager will work under the direct leadership of the PMO Program Manager.

  • Primary point of contact for vendor/cohort
  • Responsible for the health and quality of the vendor/cohort project
  • Responsible for keeping all phases of the vendor/cohort project on time
  • Oversee daily activities of the vendor/cohort team including making assignments and maintaining control over the assignments, schedule, and performance of the project team members
  • Develop and maintain a project schedule and monitor key milestones and deliverables
  • Identify, manage and report on project risks and issues
  • Perform review / assessment of project deliverables, project work products, and other activities necessary of an effective PMO team
  • Assess project risk and evaluate the effectiveness of mitigation strategies applied
  • Support NTT Project Management methodology, process and implementation guidance
  • Assist with the development, maintenance, and execution of the Program Management Plan and Integrated Project Plans
  • Monitor progress and quality against the established Project Management Plan
  • Evaluate whether the Contractor work plans, including tools and resource allocations, are appropriate and reasonable in meeting project timeframes
  • Participate in project activities and review and comment on essential project documents to ensure an effective project management process (including, but not limited to risk management, schedule and cost management, change management and issue resolution) is consistent with approved project plans
  • Monitor outcomes of project controlling activities such as risk identification and mitigation, issue resolution, budget status, change requests affecting scope, etc. to ensure processes are being utilized, are effective, and updated as needed
  • Prepare or contribute to status reports and agendas for weekly, bi-weekly, and monthly meetings
  • Participate in and communicate organizational project strategy decision

Required Qualifications:

  • 8+ Years of experience running multiple concurrent projects
  • 6+ Years of Medicaid Systems or operations project management experience
  • 4+ Years of experience managing projects in their assigned area
  • 3 – 5 years of Experience managing multi-vendor projects
  • 3 - 5 years of strong hands-on experience with Microsoft Project
  • 2 – 4 years of experience with Certification and CMS procurement requirements
  • 1 - 2 years performing procurement work (developing RFIs/RFPs, vendor selection and evaluation, etc.)
  • Experience with Medicaid Information Technology Architecture (MITA) 3.0 including the maturity matrix and the Seven Conditions and Standards
  • PMP or equivalent certification
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems or similar field or equivalent work experience.

Preferred Skills:

  • PMO Experience
  • Working knowledge of Medicaid Transformation Initiative
  • Familiarity with CMS Certification 
  • Experience with state IT system procurement process
  • Must be a team player and a consistent, dependable performer with an excellent work ethic, flexible "can-do" attitude, and a results-driven commitment to success
  • Excellent problem-solving and customer service skills
  • Experience with communications and presentations to executive management
  • Experience with contract administration and vendor management

Where required by law, NTT DATA provides a reasonable range of compensation for specific roles. The starting pay range for this remote role is $101,400 - $211,250. This range reflects the minimum and maximum target compensation for the position across all US locations. Actual compensation will depend on a number of factors, including the candidate’s actual work location, relevant experience, technical skills, and other qualifications. This position may also be eligible for incentive compensation based on individual and/or company performance.
