How You’ll Contribute  

Envestnet is seeking a Software Architect, Trading to help design scalable, reliable technology solutions that support modern trading capabilities. This role offers the opportunity to work with cloud architecture, integration patterns, data platforms, APIs, .NET technologies, AWS services, Kubernetes, Kafka, and modern engineering tools to build high-quality systems in a collaborative product engineering environment.

  • Leads requirements elicitation sessions for defined features or systems and translates them into structured architecture specifications. 
  • Designs end-to-end solutions for medium complexity systems aligned with enterprise architecture principles and standards.
  • Owns system integration design across multiple applications, ensuring consistency, scalability, and reliability.
  • Defines technical approaches for software implementation, installation, upgrades, and migration within the trading domain.
  • Evaluates design trade-offs and recommends solutions balancing functionality, cost, operational efficiency, and risk.
  • Applies cloud, data, security, and integration patterns to deliver robust and reusable architectures.
  • Collaborates with product and engineering teams to ensure alignment between business requirements and technical design.
  • Identifies gaps or conflicts in requirements and resolves them through structured architectural analysis.
  • Contributes to defining and refining architectural standards within the trading domain.
  • Utilizes agentic coding tools to accelerate design validation, prototype integrations, and generate technical documentation throughout the SDLC

What You’ll Need to Bring  

  • 10+ years of software engineering or architecture experience, with demonstrated ability to lead requirements elicitation and translate business needs into structured architecture specifications.
  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Accounting/Finance with technology experience, or a related field.
  • Hands-on architecture experience designing scalable, reliable, and reusable systems across cloud, data, security, and integration patterns.
  • Experience evaluating design trade-offs across functionality, cost, operational efficiency, reliability, scalability, and risk.
  • Experienced with C4 architecture modeling, data architecture, enterprise architecture standards, and architectural governance practices.
  • Technical background with .NET, xUnit, Reqnroll, RESTful APIs
  • Experience with PostgreSQL, SQL Server, Redis, or ElastiCache.
  • Experience with AWS, Azure or GCP cloud services  
  • Experience with Kubernetes, Docker, Kafka, CloudFormation, CDK, Terraform, DevOps practices, automation, agile delivery, Scrum, and test-driven development.
  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Accounting/Finance with technology experience, or a related field

Nice-to-Haves  

  • Strong knowledge of trading domain systems, system integration design, implementation planning, upgrades, migrations, and operational risk considerations.
  • Experience with API management solutions such as Apigee.
  • AWS experience using services including EC2, S3, ELB, ASG, API Gateway, Lambda, RDS, EKS, CloudWatch, SQS.

Our Investment in You 

This role offers a base salary range of $167,500  to $209,400. The range listed represents a good-faith estimate of base salary compensation for this position and does not include incentive compensation, equity or benefits. Individual pay will be determined based on factors including, but not limited to, relevant experience, skills, education, certifications, and geographic location, in accordance with applicable pay transparency laws.  This role is eligible for an additional incentive component as part of the total rewards package.
