Job description

Trueline is seeking an Estimator to join their team with a well-established commercial flooring contractor serving clients across the United States. This is an outstanding opportunity for an organized, detail-oriented construction professional to work alongside an experienced estimator before retirement, gaining valuable mentorship while building a long-term career with a growing organization.

What You'll Do as the Estimator:

  • Review plans, specifications, bid documents, and project requirements
  • Perform accurate quantity takeoffs using AutoCAD, Bluebeam, or similar software
  • Prepare detailed project estimates and written proposals
  • Create color-coded shop drawings for installation teams
  • Coordinate RFIs, ASIs, and bid clarifications with general contractors and project teams
  • Source and negotiate material pricing while accounting for lead times and project schedules
  • Track project specifications, value engineering opportunities, and scope changes
  • Participate in scope review and pre-bid meetings
  • Ensure a smooth handoff of awarded projects to the Project Management team
  • Identify opportunities to improve estimating processes and documentation
  • Build strong relationships with general contractors, vendors, and clients throughout the bidding process

Must-Haves as the Estimator:

  • 3-5+ years of construction estimating experience
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications
  • Experience performing quantity takeoffs and developing accurate cost estimates
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Highly organized with exceptional attention to detail
  • Comfortable managing multiple bids and deadlines simultaneously
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office
  • Valid driver's license

Nice-to-Haves as the Estimator:

  • Commercial flooring estimating experience
  • Hospitality construction experience
  • Experience working with general contractors
