Job description

Genesis10 is currently seeking a Software Engineer for a Remote position with a Financial Services Organization located in Appleton, WI. This is a contract to hire opportunity. This position is 100% remote.
Compensation: $71.00 - $73.00 per hour, W2, based on qualifications

Position Overview:
This role involves designing and developing core software solutions within a collaborative team environment. The ideal candidate will apply their technical knowledge to solve complex problems, participate in the full software development lifecycle, and contribute to maturing DevOps practices. This position requires experience with Java, Spring, Kafka, SQL, Python, and AI tools.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Apply technical knowledge to drive outcomes for customers
  • Work and problem solve independently on initiatives that align to the broader software engineering strategy
  • Design solutions within the core framework of the team's software products
  • Participate in low-level design for the product area
  • Use independent, critical thinking to solve complex problems
  • Develop core software that delivers outcomes and meets expectations for stability, scalability, and resilience
  • Seek out opportunities to learn new technologies that improve the product and its lifecycle
  • Collaborate in team sessions to provide technical expertise and remove roadblocks
  • Participate in product planning, implementation, and work decomposition
  • Participate in the team support rotation and build knowledge on focus subsystems
  • Provide technical expertise and help the team solve software issues
  • Provide training to junior developers
  • Participate in the interview process to recruit talent

Primary Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or other technical field or equivalent work experience
  • 3-5+ years of Engineering experience
  • Sound knowledge of Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and industry standard practices
  • Knowledge of systems design concepts that provide security and stability
  • Experience with leveraging AI in an engineering environment
  • Deep knowledge of Operating Systems and/or Application Development Platforms
  • Experience using technology stack, database platforms, and AI – Java, Spring, Kafka, SQL Server, Python, and SQL, Github, Github Copilot, other AI tools
  • Familiar with DevOps concepts, and exposure to maturing DevOps and engineering practices
  • Innovative mindset, highly collaborative, and constantly thinking new and different
  • Ability to debug code and/or complex log files for troubleshooting and analysis of product defects
  • Sound understanding of application engineering concepts
  • Knowledge/experience with querying databases for data lookup/update
