In your role as an LCSW, your expertise will be pivotal in guiding patients and families through complex emotional landscapes associated with serious illness. Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:

• Conducting thorough clinical assessments to understand individual patient needs and crafting tailored treatment plans grounded in evidence-based therapeutic approaches.
• Implementing therapeutic modalities such as cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) and dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), adjusting strategies to suit each family’s unique circumstances during sensitive times of life.
• Maintaining accurate and timely clinical documentation, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations and best practices, thus safeguarding patient confidentiality while promoting quality standards.
• Collaborating closely with a multidisciplinary team, including physicians, nurses, and other mental health professionals, to ensure comprehensive care for patients and their families.
• Engaging in ongoing case consultations and participating in peer review meetings to promote continuous professional growth and improve patient outcomes.
• Educating patients and families about mental health aspects related to terminal illnesses, providing guidance on available community resources to enhance their support systems.
• Staying informed on the latest advancements in social work and psychology, and incorporating new findings into your clinical practice to remain effective in your methodologies.

Your work will primarily focus on patients in hospice care, navigating the emotional and psychological dimensions of terminal illness. You'll provide empathetic support to individuals and their families in a vulnerable phase of life, ensuring that their values and preferences are respected while addressing their emotional health.

• A Master’s degree in Social Work from an accredited institution is required.
• A valid license to practice as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in Michigan.
• At least three years of clinical experience demonstrating your ability to provide effective psychotherapy and support in a healthcare environment.
• In-depth knowledge of psychotherapeutic interventions and techniques, particularly those applicable to hospice and palliative care settings.
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, enabling you to build rapport and trust with patients and their families.

• Experience in hospice, palliative care, or end-of-life counseling is highly desirable.
• Proficiency in utilizing digital tools and platforms that enhance remote social work practices.
• Understanding of the administrative aspects of social work in a healthcare setting, including managing caseloads and coordinating care with interdisciplinary teams.

The annual salary for this position ranges from USD 80,000 to 100,000, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
