Security Finance is looking for a Security Operations Center (SOC) Analyst who is passionate about cybersecurity, enjoys solving complex problems, and wants the opportunity to grow within a dynamic Information Services organization.

You'll work remotely from an approved state and travel to our Spartanburg, SC corporate office at least once each quarter for team meetings, collaboration, training, and special projects.

Cybersecurity isn't a one-person job. You'll work closely with other security analysts, IT professionals, and business teams to investigate security concerns, share information, and strengthen our overall security posture.

THE OPPORTUNITY

As a SOC Analyst, you'll provide security monitoring and situational awareness through the detection, analysis, containment, and remediation of information technology threats.

You'll have the opportunity to:

• Monitor and analyze security log data from a variety of security devices and systems.
• Identify suspicious activity, potential threats, and emerging security trends.
• Investigate security alerts and determine whether activity represents a potential security incident.
• Support Incident Response activities, including investigation, containment, remediation, documentation, and reporting.
• Perform threat and vulnerability analysis.
• Analyze and respond to software and hardware vulnerabilities.
• Research emerging cybersecurity threats and security trends.
• Work with security technologies and tools, including SIEM and other security monitoring solutions.
• Collaborate with security analysts, IT teams, and other business partners.
• Communicate security findings and recommendations to appropriate teams.
• Participate in security projects and initiatives designed to strengthen the organization's security environment.
• Continue developing your technical skills and cybersecurity knowledge.
• Participate in an on-call rotation and respond to security incidents outside of normal business hours when required.
• Work extended hours when necessary to resolve an active security incident.

WHAT YOU'LL BRING

We're looking for someone who is curious, analytical, and enjoys digging into problems to figure out what's really happening.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

• At least 1 year of experience as a Security Administrator, Network Administrator, SOC Analyst, or in a related information security role.
• Knowledge of information security methodologies, processes, and technical security solutions.
• Understanding of TCP/IP protocols, network analysis, and network/security applications.
• Knowledge of common Internet protocols and applications.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to investigate security events and determine appropriate action.
• Ability to work independently while also collaborating effectively with a remote team.
• Ability to work extended hours when necessary to resolve an active security incident.
• Reliable high-speed internet connection.
• Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Excel.
• Ability and willingness to travel to Spartanburg, SC at least once per quarter and for special projects or business needs.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Working knowledge of a Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) platform.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or a related field.
• Cybersecurity certifications such as CompTIA Security+, CEH, GIAC, CASP+, or CISSP.

REMOTE WORK REQUIREMENTS

This position is fully remote for employees residing in an approved state.

Candidates must reside in AL, GA, ID, LA, MO, OK, SC, TN, TX, UT, or WI.

Employees must have a reliable high-speed internet connection and a secure, professional remote workspace.

Quarterly travel to the Security Finance corporate office in Spartanburg, South Carolina is required, along with occasional travel for special projects, meetings, or business needs.

YOUR SCHEDULE

The standard schedule for this position is Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM.

Because we're protecting the organization around the clock, the SOC Analyst will participate in an on-call rotation and may occasionally be required to respond to security incidents outside of normal business hours. Extended hours may be necessary during an active security incident.
