Job description

Shipping Clerk:

Location: Aurora, CO 80011

Hours: M-F, 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM

Pay: $19-21/hr., Depending on Experience

Experience: Minimum of 6 months Shipping/Receiving or Forklift experience.

Prepares and packages for shipment to external customers. This includes product assembly, packaging, crating, palletizing, labeling, and loading of small packages and large finished machines. Will also assist in the unloading and storage of products that require forklift operations.

Shipping Clerk Responsibilities:

  • Review, interpret and understand part numbers, instructions and specifications of Assembly Builds and Sales Order Packages.
  • Operate computer to perform Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system functions as well as UPS Worldship and maintain shipping records.
  • Inspect, bundle, count, and verify product or material specified on Assembly Builds and/or Sales Order Packets.
  • Prepare, complete, and process necessary paperwork; enter ship quantities in the system.
  • Select packaging material, package, secure, attach label, weigh, and ship as per fabrication ticket.
  • Load and unload trucks as required.
  • Move, handle, and store material as necessary.
  • Plan, coordinate, and schedule activities with various departments and outside carriers to meet scheduled ship dates.
  • Pull inventory items for shipment; replenish inventory of stocked inventory.
  • Operate forklifts as required (valid forklift operator’s license preferred).
  • Perform duties to establish Quality Assurance Standards; report defective or substandard material, supplies, and/or products.
  • Maintain work area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition; follow all Safety Guidelines
  • Other duties as assigned, including assisting other departments as request

Shipping Clerk Requirements:

  • A high school diploma or GED and trade school preferred; trade school or military experience a plus.
  • Ability to operate forklifts.
  • Must be able to lift or pull a minimum of 50 pounds.
  • Solid written and verbal English communication skills.
  • Demonstrated mechanical aptitude.
  • Conceptual and planning skills are required.
  • Overall PC literacy (Microsoft Office) are required.
  • Must be detail oriented, self-motivated, and disciplined with the ability to change work priorities frequently.
