Job description

Position Overview
We are seeking a motivated and reliable individual to join our team as a Housekeeper and Prep Cook at one of our remote camps. This dual-role position is essential for maintaining cleanliness and organization across camp facilities while assisting in food preparation. The successful candidate will be detail-oriented, flexible, and able to work independently in a remote environment. Applicants must be local to Alaska to be considered.
Work Schedule: Minimum 2 weeks on / 1 week off, Site specific
Responsibilities
Housekeeping Duties:
  • Clean and sanitize rooms, common areas, dining facilities, and other designated spaces according to established standards.
  • Change linens, towels, and amenities as needed.
  • Sweep, mop, and vacuum floors, and empty trash receptacles.
  • Ensure cleaning equipment and supplies are properly maintained and stored.
  • Monitor inventory levels of cleaning supplies and notify management when restocks are needed.

Prep Cook Duties:
  • Assist in meal prep, including chopping vegetables, preparing ingredients, and following recipes.
  • Operate kitchen equipment such as ovens, grills, fryers, and food processors.
  • Maintain cleanliness and sanitation in the kitchen, ensuring proper storage of food items and cleanliness of cooking utensils.
  • Follow food safety protocols and health regulations, ensuring safe food handling practices.
  • Assist with dishwashing and kitchen cleanup as required.

General Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with other team members to ensure smooth camp operations.
  • Report any maintenance or repair issues to the appropriate personnel.
  • Adhere to all company policies regarding health, safety, and environmental standards.
  • Maintain a positive and professional demeanor when interacting with guests and colleagues.

Qualifications
  • ServSafe Certification
  • Previous experience in housekeeping and/or food service roles is preferred.
  • Familiarity with cleaning techniques, sanitation standards, and safe food handling practices.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a remote setting.
  • Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Flexibility to work weekends and holidays as part of the rotation schedule.
  • Physical stamina to stand, bend, lift, and carry heavy objects throughout the workday.

Additional Information
  • Food and lodging provided at the remote camp.
  • Rotational work schedule of 2 weeks on, 1 week off at a minimum.
