Key Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough assessments to evaluate clients’ mental health and substance use challenges, effectively identifying co-occurring disorders.
• Develop customized treatment plans in collaboration with clients, tailored to meet their unique mental health and substance use needs, incorporating evidence-based interventions.
• Facilitate both individual and group therapy sessions aimed at fostering coping skills, relapse prevention strategies, and techniques for emotional regulation.
• Work closely with an interdisciplinary team to coordinate care, ensuring that treatment strategies are cohesive and cover all aspects of a client's health.
• Implement regular substance use monitoring and utilize motivational interviewing techniques to bolster clients' pathways to recovery.
• Educate clients and families on the interconnectedness of mental health and substance use disorders, emphasizing the importance of adherence to treatment.
• Maintain comprehensive documentation of treatment progress, interventions, and referrals in compliance with ethical and legal standards.
• Engage in ongoing training, case conferences, and staff meetings to continuously enhance clinical skills and knowledge in the treatment of co-occurring disorders.

Patient Population / Client Focus

The clients you will serve include diverse individuals grappling with both mental health issues and substance use disorders, requiring a patient-centered approach. Your role will be pivotal in breaking the cycle of these intertwined challenges. By providing integrated care, you will facilitate meaningful recovery experiences that contribute to lasting change in their lives.

Qualifications

• A master’s or doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.
• Current and valid licensure as an LCSW, LPC, or LMFT in the state of Texas.
• Demonstrated proficiency in evidence-based practices for treating co-occurring disorders, such as Integrated Dual Diagnosis Treatment (IDDT) and Motivational Interviewing (MI).
• A solid understanding of the interplay between mental health and substance use disorders.
• Strong interpersonal communication skills, with a proven ability to collaborate effectively within a multidisciplinary team framework.

Preferred Experience

Prior experience in a similar role within integrated care settings is highly desirable. Familiarity with telehealth technologies and remote service delivery models will be considered an asset. Additionally, recent training or certification in trauma-informed care approaches is preferred, as it enhances our service delivery scope within the mental health landscape.
