About this Opportunity:

As a Business Development Consultant, you will be responsible for representing Orion in its sales efforts to promote its services to Registered Investment Advisors. This position works to increase sales within region by supporting the VP, Regional Sales' efforts to develop, qualify, and maintain new and existing relations through various territory management activities, as well as provides assistance in placing assets under management with Orion. As we continue to evolve and live our Orion values, we are looking for someone to grow with us.

Location Status:
It is anticipated that an incumbent in this role will work in a territory-basedcapacity, requiring regular travelwithin an assigned region to support business needs. This is a territory-based position covering CA, AZ, NV, UT. The incumbent is expected to reside within or near the designated territory to effectively perform in the role.

Internal candidates located within or near the assigned territory may be given preference; however, internal candidates with varying work arrangements may be considered based on experience and business needs. Work location is subject to change based on business needs.

In this role, you'll get to:

  • Cold calls and proactively hunts for new advisors from lists, campaigns and conferences for Orion Portfolio Solutions, Brinker Capital, Orion Custom Indexing and Orion OCIO. Proactively creates email campaigns in territory to find and develop potential clients.

  • Hunts for Orion Tech Clients to introduce them to Orion Custom Indexing and the tools associated with that.

  • Is responsible for traveling to, staying over night to work industry conferences in the region to find new opportunities for their territory and other territories that may have opportunities at the conference.

  • Works closely with VP, Regional Sales in the territory to develop and execute appropriate business plan to maximize territorial sales, including assessing current state of assigned territory to identify opportunities for new business in order to maintain and further sales cycle.

  • Develops relationships with Independent Advisors, Registered Investment Advisors (RIAs), industry partners and contacts to generate new prospects and to help develop their business.

  • Receives incoming calls and answers questions accurately and professionally regarding Orion Portfolio Solutions, Brinker Capital, Orion Custom Indexing and Orion OCIO.

  • Provides website tours to prospects to market and promote company products and services.

  • Contacts advisors following onsite visits and demonstrations to provide additional information, obtain feedback and utilize needs- based selling techniques to inquire about additional product needs.

  • Answer potential client questions and follow-up call questions.

  • Reengage previous lost sales opportunities.

  • Ensures receipt of excellent customer service with advisors, including expectations are being met and managed.

  • Attends and participates in development and sponsorship of conferences.

  • Assists VP, Regional Sales and Marketing Teams in developing an effective strategy, including key players and message delivered, to maximize time with prospects during sponsored trade shows.

  • Logs activity in Salesforce and keeps up to date.

  • Maintains Wholesaler database of contacts; updates information regularly, manages hubs in territory, runs reports, and adds contacts and leads to database.

  • Supports sales pipeline to meet agreed upon sales goals.

  • Discusses and develops ideas with marketing department regarding new campaigns and new tools

  • Maintains thorough understanding of all company products, including benefits and drawbacks, in order to advise Advisors on choosing correct Orion services.

  • Stays up to date on industry knowledge by reading industry publications.

We're looking for talent who:

  • Has knowledge of financial services offerings and company policies and procedures, including knowledge of Registered Investment Advisory/Wealth Management Practice management initiatives

  • Has experience working within the Financial Services industry

  • Has minimum of 2 years inside sales experience/ financial industry

  • Possess minimum of a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration, Finance or related fieldrequired.

Licensing Requirements:

  • This position requires a Series 65 license or both Series 7 and 66 licenses. If the required license(s) are not held at the time of hire, they must be obtained within 90 days of the start date. Failure to meet this requirement may result in termination of employment in accordance with company policy.
