Consultant Product Delivery - LO07AE

Group Benefits Product Execution Group supports the drafting, filing, implementation, and compliance of group insurance contracts. This position is primarily responsible for creating and maintaining legally defensible group insurance policy and ancillary product material. There is a high degree of matrix relationships and interactions with Product, Underwriting, Operations, and Sales and Relationship Management.

This position reports to the Associate Director Product Delivery.

Responsibilities:
Researching and analyzing compliance and contract-related inquiries, interpreting contract language, variability and regulatory changes to determine impacts to our product offerings
Drafting accurate and legally defensible group insurance policy and ancillary product material, conducting state filings and supporting certificate fulfillment for all complexity levels
Developing and facilitating team training sessions to build core knowledge base
Train and mentor in connection with contract interpretation, drafting, filing, and nonstandard requests
Collaborating with account team members and establishing effective working relationship to resolve complex contract interpretation and language issues
Prioritizing competing assignments across product delivery teams to maximize efficiencies
Participating in compliance and state audits of our insurance programs
Submitting form and rate filings via SERFF and IRFS to the various states
Identifying key process improvement opportunities and the streamlining of existing workflows with a focus on end-to-end processes across business functions
Working with Shared Services Leadership to develop, draft and revise best practices, resolve procedural overlap and inconsistencies, and/or provide training in response to key learnings
Supporting various projects as a subject matter expert as directed by manager
Initiating, leading, or implementing in department projects and special assignments
Team Leadership - provide oversight and direction on filing initiatives
Champions change and motivates others

QUALIFICATIONS
3+ years product & regulatory compliance experience
2+ years experience preparing state filings, including SERFF and IRFS
Strong knowledge of group products such as Life, Disability,
AD&D, Accident, Critical Illness, Hospital Indemnity and state paid leave,
including applicable state and federal laws and regulations
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Excellent analytical, research, and problem-solving skills with a sense of urgency toward driving results
Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to multi-task
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, consulting with team members as appropriate on complex matters and escalation when needed
Strong leadership & negotiation skills with proven coaching and mentoring skills
Role model customer focus and professionalism

This role can have a Hybrid or Remote work schedule.Candidates who live near one of our office locations will have the expectation of working in an office 3 days a week (Tuesday through Thursday).Candidates who do not live near an office will have a remote work schedule, with the expectation of coming into an office as business needs arise.

Candidate must be authorized to work in the US without any current or future required company sponsorship. The Hartford will - not support the STEM OPT I-983 Training Plan endorsement for this position.

Compensation

The listed annualized base pay range is primarily based on analysis of similar positions in the external market. Actual base pay could vary and may be above or below the listed range based on factors including but not limited to performance, proficiency and demonstration of competencies required for the role. The base pay is just one component of The Hartford's total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include short-term or annual bonuses, long-term incentives, and on-the-spot recognition. The annualized base pay range for this role is:

$83,200 - $124,800
